  Make sure you get an actual Sony - pay $40 or $45, it's worth it

  Many fake PSP batteries claim to be original Sonys. You can tell authentic "backlist" Sony batteries (discontinued recently due to the new "slim" PSP release) because they come in packaging with English language on the back and say "made in China". The actual battery has a barcode on the back of it. Fake PSP 2200 mAh have Chinese language on the back of the packaging and say "made in Japan" (an unlikely claim). The fake battery itself has no barcode on the back of it.In use, the fake will not give any indicator of battery life; the indicator flashes on and off and no time estimate of remaining power is left. When charged and connected to AC current, the indicator will list less than 6 hours of battery life. (The standard PSP 1800 mAh has a max battery life of 6H 28M; anything less than this total means the battery has less power, not more.) Therefore a fake 2200 mAh gives less battery life than a real 1800 mAh original PSP battery will.A real Sony 2200 mAh... 1/5 C.   Great if you can get a legit battery

  The Sony battery I bought at Target is great, giving about 5+ hours of steady gaming. However, the two I bought from Amazon from a 3rd party seller are junk. They can be identified by "Made in Japan" instead of China for the legit and Japanese writing instead of English.The problems with the pirate versions of this battery are that it gives no warning of battery being exhausted (no blinking power light and the status shows 1/3 full) and that the batteries lose their ability to hold a charge. One of the two I purchased now holds less than 15 minutes of power and the other is about 2-3 hours, less than the original battery.DON'T BUY THIS BATTERY WITHOUT GUARANTEE IT IS LEGIT FOR AMERICAN MARKET (MADE IN CHINA, ENGLISH WRITING). 1/5 S.   Stay away from these!

  I took my chance on this battery from someone of the marketplace and pretty much word for word all the symptoms are there: Made in Japan, barcode missing, doesn't retain the charge much at all. I've had mine for about a month or so and slowly the battery indicator has begun to flicker as though I had the charger connected. Do yourself a favor and buy legit from your nearest electronic store. I payed 17 bucks for mine here so it wasn't a big loss but avoid the hassle of waiting for your order just to be disappointed about your purchase.   Got this same battery replace once because the battery went completely dead when you use it till its 0% dead. I recommend you only charge this battery through A/C plug but not the USB; the fact is that the USB has a downtime till it starts charging, and if your psp had died once from natural usage, plug it back up through A/C instead of USB to be safe (to avoid battery reaching 0% life left.). So this batteries smart chip is not so "smart" in 2 ways; you can brick (dead)it by using ALL the battery power, and when your charging the battery to 100% it still continues to charge (unlike the official sony brand, the battery will stop charging after 100%).But the battery does what it does, it fits the slim psp 2000 perfectly. got an extra 2 hours of play time now, really nice. just be aware with paragraphs above and this battery should last quite awhile. 3/5 Magus - See all my reviews = Fun:, December 27, 2008

  Not double the running time, but much better tha stock battery

  A good deal for the price, but a few issues you need to be aware of. We purchased this 2,400ma battery, as it seemed the PSP's included 1,2ooma battery just wore out way too quick. It couldn't make it through a 2 hour movie, and really died way too quick when playing a graphics intensive game. While its capacity is double that of the stock battery, you won't get double the plying time, but it's definitely usable a lot longer. We estimate probably 1 1/2 times longer than normal. The only negative found to date (after 2 month's use) is that the battery level meter on the screen doesn't seem too accurate compared to when the standard battery is in place. It doesn't take away bars, and the only indication that the battery is going down is when the green light starts blinking. Then, there is not much time at all before a recharge is due.   Ran for about a month then died when u use up all.

  This battery doesn't give that much more time. same as 1200amh. It died when it ran out on me middle of a game. I tried recharging it and it doesn't work. However, it is rather cheap and probably only battery that is close to working so it might worth your risk. Just stop using it when it show battery at 2 bars or less. I does take a while to get from 3 bars to 2 bars but it may be really quick going from 2 to 1 bar display on your PSP.
