Does not support CF as the described.

Fast shipping, received the package quick and in perfect condition. Obviously something has been lost in translation with the card reader. Event the packaging itself is riddled with broken English and bad graphics. The packaging clearly states it reads CF but it does not. It seams to read a 16gb class 10 card quickly with no errors. 1/5 kew - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) IOGear 56-in-1 vs Kingston Media Reader

Needed two readers for two PC's. Could not decide on the IOGear 56-in-1 or the Kingston Media Reader. Both about the same price and with mostly good reviews. So, I bought both. Both do the job, but the IOGear is better. Why: IOGear is a simple design with easy access ports and a mini-USB port (cable supplied). Kingston has a silly sliding insert design that serves no benefit and a VERY short, near useless, full-size USB cable built in (comes with extension). IOGear comes with very useful little download application that labels each port as to card type in Explorer. No such application with the Kingston. Both are essentially the same size. In principle, the IOGear handles more card types, but that may just be a type-counting difference. Both work well, but the IOGEAR is a more polished design at same price. 5/5 G. Great for Family Vacations to Collect Photos from Everyone

It's simple. It doesn't load or require a driver on any system I plug it into. It's a perfect, tiny device that reads every card I throw at it.Bonuses are that the cable separates from the reader (prevents breakage and makes it easier for trips). It's small and flat (smaller than a deck of cards), works on every computer - and its faster for transferring photos than any camera connected directly to a computer. There are 56 different cards supported with the 5 holes to insert memory cards. Many are supported by inserting the memory card upside down - which may have been a problem for one reviewer. Be sure to read the instructions or wince at the tiny markings by each hole. And be sure your card isn't meant to be inserted upside down (like an SD card) before giving up. 5/5 dugn (Duvall, WA United States) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) SDHC & CF cards reader

I bought this to read and write to larger SDHC cards and it work as needed. It worked on a 4gb and 8gb micro SDHC cards. It worked with an SD adapter AND it also worked with the microSDHC side slot on both of them.I also bought the Kingston 133x CF card in 4gb and 16gb. It worked fine for the 4gb , BUT did not recognize the 16gb card. The 16gb card worked fine when used with a cardbus to CF adapter.I like the fact that the cable is not attached and it uses a standard miniUSB cable (included). It feels well built. I have been using it for over a week now. 4/5 T. Noone "T.Noone" (CA, USA) - See all my reviews, February 11, 2009

works as advertised. Using in a Droid X, and it works great and is nice upgrade over the 2GB class 2 card it came with. The USB card reader is a nice bonus, and it has come in handy with transferring files back and forth to an older PC that couldn't read SD cards directly. Excellent Value - but be careful where you order it from...

I purchased the 16GB version () of this package a few months ago. The card was meant to be used in my Canon S5 camera. But I soon discovered that it works extremely well with the included card reader as an USB flash drive (much larger and faster than my ). So I ended up using it mainly for data backup and transfer between my laptop and desktop computers. The card has proven to be fast and reliable in the past 2-3 months of daily usage. As first I was skeptical about Transcend's speed rating of 'class 6', which means minimum 6MB/S when writing. But my own benchmark results (see Customer Images) showed that this card... 5/5 NLee the Engineer (Nashua, NH) - See all my reviews, October 13, 2008

    Reader not recognized

Although the card is fine, which I the main reason I purchased, the reader doesn't appear to be properly recognized on any USB port on either my desktop or laptop, both running XP. Both computers 'see' the drive and I can navigate to the files on the card, however, if I try to copy any files to the card, I get a message indicating the card is locked...which it isn't...I've set the lock on the card to both positions several times to make sure. The card reads fine in the built in SD reader on my laptop and through a SanDisk reader plugged into my desktop.I tried downloading the driver and app from the Transcend website but it aborts because it doesn't 'see' that the reader is attached...tried it with the card in and with the card out...same result. If the main reason you're buying this combo is the nice little reader, you might think twice. 3/5 R. Great memory card and reader combination.

Needed a larger capacity SD-HC memory card for my digital camera. Saw this card/reader combo on Amazon for a great price, easily half of what I could have bought locally. Very happy with the card so far -- NOTE: The only problem with these high-capacity cards is that they apparently can't be read with a normal SD reader. 5/5 John Kuykendall (Virginia, USA) - See all my reviews, September 30, 2008

It works, but quality is disappointing :(

EDIT: I'm revising my review. After using it for a while now I have come to the conclusion that this thing is crap.Wish I could change my rating to 1 star (more than it deserves). Don't waste your money on this. You will regret it. It ate one of my CF cards, and later shorted out and crashed my system. Fortunately it didn't fry anything in the computer when it died.Original review:Well, it works. It reads all the memory cards and floppy disks I have tried. But the fit and finish of the product leaves a lot to be desired. I got this to replace a Mitsumi FA404 I have been using for years because the Mitsumi can't read XD or SD-HC.The drive I received is a Sabrient brand. While it does read XD cards, they have to be jammed in forcefully at an odd angle. If you try to slide them in straight they won't go. Something in the slot blocks them. FAST & EASY while holding tons of photos

I use this with my Powershot camera. I'm not a professional photographer, and don't want to become one. I just wanted something to hold lots of pictures and be easy to download onto my computer. This is it.The adapter that allows the MC to be placed in a port on the front of my computer can't be any easier. It brings up the photos fast. I'm no expert on speeds and the like, I just know for a family photographer, and a nature picture taker, this is the perfect tool to save the shots for as long as needed. I've never run out of space and tend to save shots for a long time. There has never been any hint of a glitch using this MC and the USB Card Reader.I'd highly recommend it to anyone, family shooter or professional. Nice gadget to have

This worked fine out of the box. It glows when you plug it in to tell you that it's connected correctly, which I found nice. It's so simple to use there's really nothing more to say. The only small thing is I rather wish it was a little more substantial in it's construction. Something little like this might accidently have something put on it, and I don't feel comfortable that it would survive much mishandling. 4/5 drumlin (Avon, CT) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Card is fast, reader is fast. Reader is cheaply built though

So you're looking at buying this, which means you're looking for the memory card and the reader.Given the current Amazon prices are ~$5 different between the model with the card reader and just the card, this means the card reader costs you approximately $5, right?Well, you get what you pay for.The card itself is fast, both in writing from a Canon XSi DSLR camera and in reading from the included card reader. The capacity is 8 GB (less in actual use thanks to formatting the device). I can take the quoted fastest frames per second (3.5 fps) with this card, unlike the generic 2 GB SD card I have. The Class 6 speed really seems to help. Now the card reader itself... it's VERY cheaply built. It doesn't feel like it will break if you drop it, but it doesn't seem like it would take much to damage it either. The memory card sticks out of the reader which is a blessing or a curse depending on how you look at it. It's easy to remove the card from... 4/5 Stephen M. Works with iPad!

iPad is tricky if you try to download pictures from anything other than an Apple SD card reader/adapter. Other card readers all draw too much power for the iPad, including the Lexar 24-in-1 which I'd hoped would work.Using this IOGear GUH286 self-powered USB Hub/Card reader works GREAT, and for all types of cards including CF and XD. Because of its included auto-switching 110/120-volt power adapter, the IOGear does not draw power from the iPad. It's another thing to carry along on your travels, but WORKS great and allows importing digital camera shots from all types of cards. A++++ 5/5 Macondray J. fantastic all in one hub, but must be plugged in

Great little hub. I really like it. Love that it has so many USB ports along with the card reader. This is hard to find at this decent price. My only dislike is that is has to be plugged in to the wall socket (even if it's plugged into a powered USB port!) in order to use the card reader. The usb ports all work without being plugged in, but the card reader won't work. This frustrates me as I have so many things plugged in. But if that's not an issue for you then this is a perfect hub. 4/5 G. Smith (Atlanta) - See all my reviews, April 5, 2010

    Ideal USB/Media Card Netbook Hub

I bought this hub for my Asus netbook - needed more than 3 USB ports. This product works great. It's reasonably small, powered (netbook doesn't provide much power to its internal USB ports) and has worked flawlessly. You have to get the hang of which way the media cards insert into the unit, and you'll need access to all 4 sides of the hub to plug everything in, but it's great. The product arrived promptly and in good shape and even the miserable hard plastic wrapping wasn't too hard to get off. Very satisfied. 4/5 A. Good product expect for the length of the USB Cable

I wanted a card reader with additional USB ports and this product was just what I was looking for.+ It is small- The USB cable provided is too short to be of much use (hence the 4 stars).I am using this unpowered so the 3 usb ports on the device are available for me to use. If I needed this device to be powered I would have to use the Y-splitter part of the USB cable to connect it to 2 usb ports on my PC (just as I would expect from any other un-powered usb device). I am quite happy not to have to find space in my power strip for yet another plug frankly! In summary, it works well so far - it's inexpensive - the only issue is the length of the USB cable provided. 4/5 M. A good purchase

Not as bad as others' comments, I feel the card reader works just fine. While the length of the cable might be troubling to desktop computer users, but for most laptop users there should be no problem at all. 4/5 Gilbert Lee - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Good Hub for MacBook Air

Since the MacBook Air has only 1 USB port, I needed a hub for my simultaneous use of various devices (wireless mouse + flash drive + portable hard drive). So far so good (after 2 months of use).Warning: It can get quite slow when transferring data from flash drive to hard drive and vise-versa. It was much faster to stick the HD directly to the USB port, move the data to the desktop; then remove the HD and stick in the flash drive and move the data from desktop to flash drive. A bit of a hassle, but this isn't done often anyway. The capability to read most formats of memory cards is a big plus for me (esp the CF reader, which is harder to find these days). 4/5 Christine - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Very nifty and usefull

I purchased this bundle mainly because of the Card reader added. It was easily recognized by computers, as one could expect, no drivers needed other than windows native drivers to make this thingy go. I am impressed at the speed of data transfer. It is handy to have this device around as the USB ports are more common in computers than the card readers. The 4GB memory cards arrived in their original Kingston packaging. I've used Kingston for many years now, and have come to trust the brand. One of the other main points is that I was relieved to find out this vendor ships via USPS. I really hate it when some sellers ship via UPS. With USPS, I get my stuff much, much faster than with other methods. I get my stuff days before the expected date. I wish other vendors follow suite, as for me, it is very convenient and less frustrating than dealing with UPS or FedEx. IMHO.Thanks. 5/5 R. The SD Card works, lol

The card reader it came with didn't work. Not on win7 anyway. It seemed ok on vista, but really slow and wouldn't always open the files. They did quickly send me another, and while win7 did recognize that one for some reason, it only recognized it until you tried opening a picture. While I'm happy the seller promptly sent a replacement, in the end I didn't care about the reader. The microSD card was new and worked fine though. 3/5 John (San Antonio, Texas) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Better way to get ringtones

I use this to transfer ringtones and pictures from my computer (where I can edit the ringtone) to my cell phone using the micro SD card. It works great and I don't have to pay my service provider for ringtone downloads! 5/5 David S. Sheaves (Carrboro, NC) - See all my reviews, February 21, 2011
