emdhie Smartphones pretty much turned the cell phone industry on its ear when they first came out, but they're pretty commonplace now. In fact, if you have a new smartphone right now, odds are you've got one or two old ones stashed somewhere in your home. If they still work, you're probably hesitant to get rid of them. If they don't, you might not be sure how to dispose of them safely. When it comes down to figuring out what to do with your old phone, take a third option- sell smartphone, and make some easy money.

    Excelent Blackberry model

Very nice phone: unlocked, delivery shipping OK, new box, the only bad thing is that this model doesn't iclude any leather case neither the memory card. The phone works correctly! battery, software already updated, everything...even when is used in different country: It's working perfectly with Movistar line, Venezuela. 5/5 Rafael Ramirez "Magno Mejias" (Venezuela) - See all my reviews, January 23, 2010

    Blackberry Rim 8520

I gave it a four because when I first got it, it took me time to see and get used to the keys because they are kind-of small. If you want bigger buttons get 8330, my sister has one, wish I could switch with hers, but mine is newer and no tracking ball, which I really like to.. about this phone. Its sleek and easy to navigate..Before I had this one I had the 8120, ah--big difference the charge on 8520 last longer and takes a little time to charge up, but its worth it. Also, the keys I wished lighted up a bit brighter, BUT like I said once you have it after a few days you get used to it. My one problem with as I am thinking off the top of my head ..is there are not enough apps to go with or themes made for this model.I am a geek for that, but as of now I have been able to download a few off my blackberry 8120 to my 8520.Also, checking around i was able to get a few more themes, that are just awesome. certainly no iPhone ... which is a good thing!

the 8520 phone actually works well on at&t! no matter how much you learn the iphone keyboard, a blackberry full physical qwerty still wins, hands down. the spell checker and predictive type on bberry is better vs iphone and with the physical keyboard you misspell a lot less. since you can sync your itunes on here you only "miss" the iphone for its apps which really only work best on wifi. 8520 is lightweight, fairly thin, very light, has nicely spaced keys, and really cool media controls blended into the top of the device. nice use of rubber here on the device too lends some durability to glossy plastic finish. I jammed a 16G nand flash card into it too so i have music, movies etc with me. I bought the unlocked version since i use the 8520 when traveling to US from abroad .... without a full blackberry data package you lose out on things like email and blackberry messenger - but this is my 2nd/travel phone so i dont care too much - I use it when in the US with pay as you go on at&t -... 5/5 VCNY "VCNY" (LONDON, UK) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) A good outcome

My Blackberry just arrived in the mail 3 days before the expected delivery date! I got free shipping for something that would have arrived at the same time if I selected one day shipping (I ordered on Friday and it came on the next Monday) I ordered it from Just Cellular and did a lot of research on them before purchasing a phone. I read before that some phones stopped working after a given amount of time, and hopefully mine does not follow the trend and I ordered it from a different company than those phones. It came with just the phone, battery and wall charger. The packing was left to be desired considering the contents were just bouncing around in the box. But everything checked out ok. I'm very happy with my purchase. 5/5 Eric Bennett "Dragon 95" (Arizona) - See all my reviews, June 27, 2011

    False Advertising

I ordered a new Blackberry Curve 8530 from the seller, and was initially very pleased with the speed of shipping (fulfilled by Amazon Prime). When I went to activate it I was told by Verizon wireless that it was listed as lost/stolen and could not be activated. I received a refund through Amazon customer service and was able to order another phone, but lost precious time without a phone due to the fact that I could not activate the device. I will admit that it looked new (both the phone and packaging) but the reality is that I could not activate it, and therefore not use it, due to its lost/stolen status. If I would have ordered a used item I would have been ok with taking a chance on it, but it was not new as advertised and left me disappointed. 1/5 happyhalloween (Eugene, OR) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Bought from Amazon.com / Comprado a Amazon.com

Finally I got my new device and I can tell that it was all that I was expecting. I bought it from Amazon.com store (not another seller) and when the box arrived the first thing that I checked was the model number and it is RCM72UW, which works with 3G bands 850/1900/2100, so this is AT&T, Rogers, Telus model...not T-Mobile model, so this is good news for me 'cause I use Movistar-Venezuela service. Well, to be honest I can not assure that Amazon.com will always be sending this particular model because they don't make any difference about the 3G compatibility and believe me 'cause I expend a lot of mails to customers service and they couldn't give me this detailed info. I took the risks and bought it anyway. Another info displayed on the box: Blackberry Bold 9780 Smartphone, 1256- Americas (Spanish) QWERTY-Black. Model RCM72UW, Made in Mexico. Worldwide Distributors socks

I recently bought a phone blackberry 9780 from Worldwide Distributors. In the Technical details of the product it clearly states "Quad-band GSM cell phone compatible with 850/900/1800/1900 frequencies and US/International 3G compatibility via 800/850/1900/2100/ 1700/2100 MHz, UMTS/HSDPA plus GPRS/EDGE capabilities" The phone I received is not compatible with all 3G bands as stated. I got a T-Mobile phone which works with 3G bands 1, 4, 8 (2100, 1700, and 900) and does not work with 1900 my operator 3G band. I am dissapointed that Amazon been a company of such high reputation allows sellers to publish such false advertisement. 1/5 Zaira Galvis - See all my reviews This review is from: BlackBerry Bold 9780 Unlocked Cell Phone with Full QWERTY Keyboard, 5 MP Camera, Wi-Fi, 3G, Music/Video Playback, Bluetooth v2.1, and GPS (Black) (Wireless Phone Accessory) I recently bought a phone blackberry 9780 from Worldwide Distributors. Used hopefully not abused - Well very abused

The phone was advertised as brand new when i bought it in early January 2011. To my surprise, I switched it on to find a thread of love text messages from some guy back in Oct 2010 which obviously means it had been used. The phone does look brand new and currently works without any problems. It better stay that way considering how much $$$$ is splashed out for the device!!!!So after about one month, the key pad especially the BB button started malfunctioning. I tried to return the phone unfortunately, becos i moved to Africa shortly after the purchase, US customs made it difficult to return to seller. So i decided to cut my losses and buy a new key pad which i did. It worked better although for the BB button, it was still faulty. I then realized it was a problem not of the key pad, but in the underlying board. So i've had to live and struggle with the phone until yesterday when the screen went crazy. Now i cant see anything on the screen. I'm going to have to... 1/5 Cenergy - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Problematic Supplier

Ok. so the supplier was prompt and courteous but the issues avoidable. I paid for two day shipping as i was due to travel the phone arrived after i left and only after i contacted the seller. Upon arrival and opening the box i got a used phone with scratches on the face plate, the wrong charger, the back plate is replaced with a cheap cover from another supplier. Upon opening to insert the battery the inside is dirty and has a green dust on the phone and there is no memory card. So decided to return only to realize i will now lose 15% restocking fee plus shipping ($81 or 18% cost of phone). Worst yet the supplier writes me to remove the bad review on the shipping problems as its bad for business. If the business was good i will not have an issue. Anyway the Torch is a great phone this is the third i am buying, the first from this supplier. Will never buy from here again. 1/5 S. Rambocas - See all my reviews, August 4, 2011

    Intelligent design

Blackberries may no longer be the top 'smart phones' because they don't do everything well but for what I consider their 'core' features - email and phone, in that order - they are still up there at the top. And the Torch is the current top Blackberry at the time I'm writing this. As a 'business phone', it combines the best features of 'traditional' blackberries with the best a highly graphical, 'touch' interface can provide. For a 'phone and entertainment' device, there may be better alternatives. My review is not going to discuss the Torch long list of features and capabilities. They are all listed at RIM's and 100 other different sites. I will only talk about why I currently prefer the Torch vs. anything else as a 'business' phone even now when my employer would allow me to use other brands if I wanted to.THE TORCH ADVANTAGE- Physical keyboard - The most visible Torch feature is the sliding keyboard. This allows for a larger display when compared... 5/5 A. Dent "Aragorn" (Minas Anor, GD) - See all my reviews, August 13, 2011

All Fired Up Over The Torch

I have had the pleasure of using a Blackberry device since the first Blackberry was launched. As a long time Blackberry user, I have found that I simply cannot get away from their product, nor do I want to. For a short period I had an iPhone but I could not get used to the keyboard. Every time I needed to write a long email I wanted to hit it with a hammer.Blackberry is simply the best for a business person or someone who needs to be typing on it all day. The keyboard on the Torch took a day to get used to vs the Curve but that was it. Here are a couple things I like about the Torch:1. Actual keyboard for those long e-mails.2. On screen keyboard for those quick texts or silent typing3. Calendar - always simple, just start typing by the time of day and you're done.4. Better camera (Not iPhone 4 good, but good)There are many other additions to the Torch, but the simple fact is its a work horse phone plain and simple. Great Business Phone!

The Blackberry Torch is the best all-around business smartphone. It emails better than the iPhone 4 because of the traditional Blackberry qwerty keyboard and it files and sorts emails like Outlook. I can see all my email accounts on one screen and I can see my sent emails in the same screen. This was something the iPhone 4 required going to two separate screens to see. The HTC ARIA was even worse, had to go to each account and then switch from the inbox to sent folder. This was a pain since I have 4 email accounts.Battery life on the Torch should get you through a full day, unless you are watching movies. For an average day, I talk for an hour or two, email 20 - 30 times, listen to an hour of music and search the web for about 30 mins. The HTC ARIA only lasted until 6pm.Screen resolution is good but not as nice as the iPhone 4. Love it!

This phone works flawlessly. The touch screen is easy to use and not overly sensitive. The browser is great. There are many things BlackBerry does so much better than anyone else such as contact management and instant message management, in my opinion. Push email is awesome. I've had BlackBerries and HTC and BlackBerry wins hands down. I have friends with iPhones and while their phone is dead until they get to a place to recharge it all I have to do is pop the battery out and put a fresh one in and I'm still going. Being able to replace the battery on the fly is very important when I am out hiking or camping. One possible drawback to this particular phone is the OS6. It is excellent in and of itself but my carrier doesn't support it and I was unable to get service books for the browser to work. Check with your carrier to see if the phone is compatible and if the OS is compatible. If not, a quick stop at Crackberry.com gave me the fix for that and now it works perfectly. Check with your carrier to see if the phone is compatible and if the OS is compatible. If not, a quick stop at Crackberry.com gave me the fix for that and now it works perfectly. If... Product not as published

The cellphone arrived with its trackpad damaged, it was supposed to work in 1,2,5,6 bands and it doesn't, it works in 1,4,8 bands so I received a 3G phone not working with my carrier. Amazon shoud be more careful about publishing accurate product description, regarding to cellphones it is critical information. 1/5 djsn33 - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

En suma , estoy muy contenta con mi adquisición!!! 5/5 marialex - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) World Wide Distributors customer service is horrible!!!

To all Amazon customers. I truly and honestly advise you all to be careful of who is the merchant of the products you are buying from. I ordered a Blackberry Tour 9630 for my fiancee. First when I order the phone, they sent me the wrong endorsed phone. I needed a Sprint PCS phone, they send her a Verizon phone. After she mailed the phone back, by overnite, to World Wide Distributors, she had to wait 6 days to recieve the correct phone. While my fiancee has the correctly endorsed phone, she goes to the local Sprint PCS store and finds out that the phone she has CAN NOT be activated. The phone came up as LOST or STOLEN! While my fiancee called World Wide, she was trying to get ahold of customer service and the young lady hung up on her. This company should be shut down and banned from any further business with any group, company, or business alike. I hope I have helped many other customers of Amazon with this ordeal. 1/5 Dax Thomas (El Paso, TX) - See all my reviews, October 27, 2009

    Not truly unlocked

As other reviewers say, this is not truly as pictured, as it is a Verizon phone. That said, it works pretty well -- with one major exception: where I am (in Tanzania) the data portion is not unlocked. The handset will not enable data access at all. The cel phone company rep here (Airtel)told me they have had this problem with many Verizon BBerries, and despite their request, RIM has not come back with a solution for unlocking the phones for data. And now Amazon won't let me return it as the 30 days are up. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. This is the first time I am very unhappy with my Amazon purchase. 1/5 Anna (Washington, DC) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) UNBELIEVABLE

I really advice all to make sure the company you are going to give your money to, will be a good reliable one. My fiancee who is currently deployed to Iraq sent me a Blackberry tour 9630 as a gift. I was excited until the phone I recieved was the wrong carrier. I am with Sprint they sent a Verizon phone. Customer service rep ANITA when I contacted them let me know she would email a ups label. It has been a week I am still waiting for the email! I knew better sent the phone out to them over night. Today I recieved the correct Sprint Blackberry. To my surprise when I go to activate is they can't do it because the phone was reported LOST or STOLEN!!!!! I was irrate I called World Wide while at the store, all John could do is give me his email so I could email him!!! I called customer service aka Anita, I was upset so yes I raised my voice, and so did she!!! Can you imagine, your fiancee half a world away sends a present and not a cheap one, everything goes wrong, then you are yelled back... 1/5 Priscilla Storer - See all my reviews, October 27, 2009

Darn near perfect but still a Blackberry.

Please bear in mind I am not a professional reviewer or experience Blackberry user. I am a technophile with some BB knowledge.HARDWARE:Body is slim and sleek, nice lines and curves. It easily fits in the pocket. Slimmer and lighter than my mothers previous 8330, I think she will like it. Buttons seem a tad smaller than previous Curves, but still easy to press. The menu buttons also have a nice click to them even though they are flat and flush with the body. This was my first time using the newer trackpad on blackberry's and it was nice. Seems a little weird at first but it actually better when you become accustomed to it. Center button clicks nicely and no accidentally rolling around when you try to hit it. Camera and volume rockers are also the newer style, built into the body. They press easily as does the top lock button, also built in (not sticking out). Call quality is good, as can be expected on BB's. Camera is OK but I dont put much stock in phone cameras... 5/5 Shorty L "Shorty" (Virginia, USA.) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
