But would still like to use the web browsing features with wifi. It wont let me because it keeps trying to use the 3g line. please help on how to get around this. will unlocking the phone work? Answer by Really Old GuyYou don't need any "connected phone" to use WiFi. You do need a hot spot access point like a wireless router on your PC or a visit to Starbucks or the airport where you will find a free access point. Hope that helps. Give your answer to this ques

I have a verizon cell phone that i really like but i have really bad credit so i cant have a plan through verizon. Can i switch the phone into a prepaid phone instead?
Answer by GreencellsJust call Verizon and they will activate ANY Verizon phone as a Prepaid phone. The only exception is if the phone has been on an account that owes money or was called in as stolen. This is concidered a bad esn and Verizon will not active that phone on any account. Now, once you activate a Verizon phone on a Prepaid account, it cannot be used on a post paid (contract) acc

iPhone 4s, Top 5 Hardware, Very Poor Software!

For years I've heard how great the iPhone is and with every iteration people seem to echo this sentiment. So, I decided this time around I was going to try it out and see if it would satisfy the high expectations that my previous smartphones had built up.Honestly, I believe there's no easy way to review the iPhone without breaking it into two pieces as the Software and Hardware deserve equal consideration and I feel they help to balance the weaknesses of this phone.I will say, this phone does have some major failings in the Software so if you're just looking to find out how this is different from your current Smartphone then skip to that section.HARDWAREBUILD QUALITY The iPhone 4s Feels Solid, it isn't likely to come apart on its own and overall feels very solid. The only area I would consider a weakness is in the choice of Glass used for the display so the phone is very well done over all.SCREEN For... 3/5 P. Perry - See all my reviews, January 14, 2012

Good update to the iPhone 4

I picked up a Verizon iPhone 4S on release day to replace my existing Verizon iPhone 4. It is an excellent, reliable device that excels in making phone calls, texting, emailing, and all the other stuff that one would expect from a smartphone. I have not had any of the battery life issues commonly reported on the web. I'm not sure if these issues are due to a bad batch of batteries or if it is a software glitch, but regardless of the cause, I have experienced no battery related problems at all.The value of the iPhone 4S really depends on what type of phone it is replacing. For anyone with a 3GS or older or any other branded smartphone, this phone is an excellent choice. If you are in the same boat as me and already have an iPhone 4, the answer is not so clear. If I was limited to one new discounted phone every 2 years, then I would have stuck with my iPhone 4 and waited for next year's model. Fortunately, I have a family plan with multiple lines, all of which I pay... 5/5 G. Lee (Tennessee) - See all my reviews, November 23, 2011

    An Adult Reader's Review

Presumably the diary of a teenage drug addict, GO ASK ALICE was first published when I was in junior highschool. It was widely distributed at my school, and the faculty urged the students to read it for an accurate portrait of the horrors of drug use--and read it I did. At the time I was very, very impressed by the book. But that was almost thirty years ago. Today I am 40 years old, and I am a much more critical reader than I was when I was 12. And my thoughts upon rereading this book are quite different than they were when I first came to it.The obvious issue here is whether or not the book is what it purports to be. Upon re-reading it, I find myself willing to believe that GO ASK ALICE is indeed the diary of a teenage drug user--but I also think it has been heavily re-written in spots to intensify its anti-drug agenda. I base this observation on two points. First, whenever the book describes drugs or their effects, it suddenly changes tone and becomes very, very specific... 4/5 Gary F. Taylor "GFT" (Biloxi, MS USA) - See all my reviews, May 25, 2002

    An exercise in futility.

"Go Ask Alice," the tome so gloriously expounded upon by four-hundred and forty-four readers below, is a fictional account of a teenager's descent into drugs. It is "edited" by Dr. Beatrice Sparks. Now take a moment, Amazon shopper, and do a search for "Beatrice Sparks" under "Books." As you can see, Ms. Sparks knows a quite a few anonymous teenagers, each of them with a different malaise. Whether it's Annie (pregnancy) or Nancy (date rape/AIDS), Jay (drugs/Satanism) or Jennie (pills), or even Sam (gang violence), Ms. Sparks covers it all. At the age of eleven, reading this book was a terrifying gateway into nethers of teenage existence. Now, at the age of nineteen, it has become a relic of the American War On Drugs; an antiquity like Nancy Reagan's "Just Say No" campaigns or the "D.A.R.E." program. Like most anti-drug literature, it's well meaning, but inconsistencies ultimately get the upper hand. "Go Ask... 1/5 Andrew M. Take this book with a large grain of salt - IT'S FICTION!

I don't mind people liking this book or gaining something from this book, but many of the adult reviewers here seem hellbent on promoting this book as either as either a major literary work or as an actual diary depicting the horrors of teen drug abuse. It is neither. I think it does potential readers, especially teen readers a true disservice to promote this book in either way. If you're doing this, you are not being honest. It is NOT a real diary. It simply is not. It is a work of fiction created by Sparks. She continued this path - soap opera in diary form in a full-out series of books warning teens about the consequences of bad behavior. Don't believe me? Go to the Snopes Web site (you know, the one that confirms or dispells urban legends, rumors and out-and-out lies?) and read about Go Ask Alice. The researchers there confirmed that It is a work of FICTION written by SPARKS (not "Anonymous") as if it were a real diary. I'm not saying this is necessarily a bad thing,... 3/5 lit teacher jones - See all my reviews This review is from: Go Ask Alice (Mass Market Paperback) I don't mind people liking this book or gaining something from this book, but many of the adult reviewers here seem hellbent on promoting this book as either as either a major literary work or as an actual diary depicting the horrors of teen drug abuse. Corruptor Soundtrack

    Krs-One's "5 Boroughs of Death",Keith Murray's "Slap Somebody",also Mic Vandalz "Feel the Rush" was off the hook.Oliver Wang doesn't know sh*t about hip-hop.Jay-Z's Remix of "Money,Cash,Hoes" was alright,but the other jams tore it up.Jigga's the man,but don't front on Krs-One and them other MC's,alright,Wang. 4/5 0, April 6, 1999

The soundtrack has it's moments and downfalls

As with a lot of soundtracks, the music has nothing to do with or doesn't even follow along the lines of the film. With this in mind, the sounds on this LP may confuse some. There are bangers on the soundtrack, such as KRS-One's "5 Boroughs", Jane Blaze, Mobb Deep's "Allustrious", Kasino and The LOX's "Men of Respect" and others. But there are artists on here that take away from the soundtrack like Spice 1's highly disappointing song and a biting, wanna be DMX sound-a-like named Truck Turner. This is am aiight hip hop soundtrack. A good purchase but don't let it's downfalls frustrate you. 3/5 0, July 10, 1999

    Solid Album

Ok.. So its not a ground-breaking hip-hop album and it is a bit commercial.. but its a solid album if you like hip-hop... The reviewer for Amazon.com above obviously had no interest when reviewing this album and it shows in his assessment. And where did that track listing come from?? I have 17 tracks on my CD.. err?? There are some fab songs on here and though they aren't terribly new they hold their own weight. Some of the better tracks are Jay-Z's remix, Kasino's 'Men of Respect,' and 'The Corruptor's Execution.' If you like hip-hop then this is not a bad buy especially for a soundtrack. 4/5 0, March 22, 1999

XPRT Overheats .. Sprint/Motorola please address issue!

I am now on my 3rd XPRT phone. 1 had a bad speaker and 2 are overheating for no reason. Battery app has shown 115 degrees..now that's hot! No combination of app kills, battery pulls, restarts, or trying different batteries helps. Once the XPRT starts to run hot, it doesn't stop. The overheat is a known issue for the "sister" Droid Pro from Verizon. Check the internet...lots out there regarding the Droid Pro but very little regarding the XPRT since it is so new. I really like the phone but there is clearly an issue here that needs to be addressed. Motorola, please get this fixed! 1/5 TheLungMD - See all my reviews This review is from: Motorola XPRT Android Phone (Sprint) (Wireless Phone) I am now on my 3rd XPRT phone. 1 had a bad speaker and 2 are overheating for no reason. Wife loves her new Phone with a Blackberry feel

I got this phone for my wife for the simple fact that my wife & I was tired of the radio and antenna issues with HTC phones and Samsung phones. The Nexus S 4g(which me and the wife had) was the last straw and I knew I needed to go to a tried and true manufacturer and one that is a master of a trade and not just a jack of a bunch of ones. Motorola may not have the so called flashy and smooth UI (even though I can't tell the difference who focuses so much on a UI)of HTC and Samsung. Motorola knows how to make a fucntional phone that gets good reception whether it be wi-fi,1G,2G,3G, or 4G. Forget the additional features a phone has to be able to make a call and keep a signal, without that it is a shiny useless paper weight. My wife is going to stay with Motorola since she needs a functional phone and not some shiny UI with features that don't work because her phone can't keep a signal.Pros:Reception with radios and antenna's is KingUI Plain and just does what is... 5/5 marcusj3000 (shreveport, louisiana United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: Motorola XPRT Android Phone (Sprint) (Wireless Phone) I got this phone for my wife for the simple fact that my wife & I was tired of the radio and antenna issues with HTC phones and Samsung phones. Nice step up from BlackBerry Curve

I'm really pleased with this phone. I bought it because I'm going to Paris in the Fall and wanted to be able to use it there. I especially like the combination of the qwerty keyboard and touchscreen. It seems to be better built than my BlackBerry. I had to have my Curve replaced and then worked on again. So far, no problems with the XPRT. 5/5 Hard to fool "addie" (Texas) - See all my reviews This review is from: Motorola XPRT Android Phone (Sprint) (Wireless Phone) I'm really pleased with this phone.
