    AT&T HTC One X Review

  • May 12, 2012 from vickyrajd(Vikram Devraj) in Technology
vickyrajd Are the HTC One X's gorgeous display, unique materials, and standout design enough to give AT&T’s Android stable a needed shot in the arm?

att htc chacha spotted in the wild

  • Jul 19, 2011 from suci0001(latifah) in Lifestyle
suci0001 Remember the HTC Status , or better known as the HTC ChaCha, which will arrive over at AT&T? This is the first of what could possibly be a bunch of “Facebook phones” – handsets that feature a dedicated Facebook button. What you see here is not an official image but a leak, where you will find the famous “F” button (implying Facebook, of course), letting you post onto your own wall or others in a jiffy with but a single button press

    AT&T HTC Vivid review

  • Dec 30, 2011 from Gizmotraker(Sanket Vaghasia) in Lifestyle
Gizmotraker The HTC Vivid launched side by side with the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket two months ago as the first LTE phones available on AT&T. Currently it’s available in both black and white for $199.99, which isn’t a bad price considering Verizon is selling most LTE phones at $299.99. The only issue with the Vivid is that AT&T’s LTE service is only available in 15 markets. For those Sense lovers wanting something future proof, this could be the device for you.

    Clockwork

these are tough little phones. but they are little ;)i've had a year of experience with this guy. here's what i know.PROS: Unlockable. Clockwork Recovery. Multiple Custom ROMS and active development community. Responsive clear screen. Pocket size. Hot swappable SD. Abundant Accessories (via amazon ;). After flashing a custom rom you get: Tethering, Overclocking, Faster 3G.CONS: Low battery life (it goes a day with active monitoring and conservative apps. the rapid charger will bring it back to 100% in an hour ;). Pocket size. 800mhz leaves something to be desired but is not unreasonable, especially in this configuration.it's a solid piece of hardware. 4/5 Aaron.A - See all my reviews This review is from: HTC Aria Cell Phone (Wireless Phone Accessory) these are tough little phones. but they are little ;)i've had a year of experience with this guy. here's what i know.PROS: Unlockable. Better than the iPhone 4 ?

I don't write many reviews for products that I buy, but this product deserves some recognition. In a few words: It is amazing. I love many things about this phone that I may have to list the pros and cons...I think I will actually do just that:ProsLarge screenThe screen, measured diagonally, is about 4.3". This is very large. If you are used to a smaller screen like on the iPhone, get ready for some adaptation to this phone. The screen's size makes it easier to see things like text, pictures, etc. The only bad thing about this screen is that when you compare it to the iPhone 4, you can tell that the Inspire does not have a "Retina Display" as Apple calls it. In other words, you can more easily see pixels displayed on the Inspire than you can on the iPhone 4. Although, don't get me wrong. The Inspire's screen is very nice and sharp with good brightness settings overall, it just isn't as sharp as the iPhone 4's screen. Also, the outer screen... 5/5 Brad Setzer "Brad" (NC, United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: HTC Inspire 4G Android Phone, Black (AT&T) (Wireless Phone) I don't write many reviews for products that I buy, but this product deserves some recognition. Powerful phone, good price

2 weeks into use, I've got to say I'm very satisfied. This is a powerful phone for only $50-$100 at various retailers. What's nice:- Solid, high quality feel (and I actually like the fact that it has some weight).- Beautiful U.I. with the most recent HTC Sense update.- Maps is pre-cached, helps with navigation and in areas with bad reception (welcome to at&t!).- Great hardware, I have not had any issues with lag or freezing. Pulse is the only app I've had to force-quit (twice). My advice to get the most out of this device:- Upgrade your data plan to $25/month for 2GB. I went through 140MB on the first day (downloading apps, customizing, and setting up the device).- If you are having difficulty opening the battery door, get your fingernail right underneath the edge of the battery cover near the bottom of the volume rocker and pull away from device like you are trying to break it off (It pops-off rather than slide-off like the... 5/5 Alexson Lim (San Luis Obispo, CA) - See all my reviews, March 4, 2011

    First android phone- Love it!

Android:I am blown away by the all the different apps and features of the android in general. I have not felt this shocked by a electronic device since I used the internet for the first time in 1995. It is not as idiot proof as apple's operating system though. I find myself spending quite a bit of time getting used to where all the settings are located for various programs- there are just so many options for everything. This is fine for me since I consider myself relatively tech savvy, but for some users, this may be overwhelming. Although I love this phone, I am recommending my 50+ year old parents to buy the iphone because I think the iOS operating system is much easier to use.As for this phone:It is my first android phone and I really love this phone, but it has some areas with rooms for improvement. HTC did include all the features one could want in a phone.-Battery life is shorter than I would like in a phone- I charge it everyday. My ipad on... 4/5 F. Top Phone on the market

Been playing around with this phone since Thanksgiving.Earlier this month, the bootloader finally got an unlock, which allowed me to root and install custom roms. This little thing is fast, even if it has an underclocked 1.2 ghz processor. Bloatware can be removed with root.Replaces my netbook, which I no longer lug around because I have hspa+ on this phone (4g LTE not available in my area yet) web browser is super snappy.Low volume can be remedied by market apps that boost the equilizer settings.Chose this over the samsung galaxy s2 skyrocket because, like many other reviews, the colors on the screen come out clearer and in higher definition on the vivid. Netflix and NBA leaguepass play flawlessly on its 4.5 in screen, which is gorgeous.Camera is amazing. Haven't had much time to play around with it though.Got a case for it and it makes the volume rocker and power button much less likely to be accidently pressed... 5/5 Painter - See all my reviews This review is from: HTC Vivid 4G Android Phone, White (AT&T) (Wireless Phone) Been playing around with this phone since Thanksgiving.Earlier this month, the bootloader finally got an unlock, which allowed me to root and install custom roms. A Unique Phone

I have been waiting so long to get this phone. I have read all the reviews about it and was very excited when I first got my hands on it. But after hours of using and checking it out, I came to this following conclusion:THE WHITE VERSION OF THE VIVID IS THE MOST SEXIEST DESIGN YET!The phone looks very luxurious in my hand, the soft smooth plastic and my favorite part which is the hard grey metal cover on the back. The weight of the phone what gives its uniqueness, people might dislike this but all the other light phones gives them a cheapy feel. However, let me get to the pros and cons:Pros:-The screen resolution is brilliant! It is true there is now phones with 720p displays but believe me, qHD is more than enough, plus the 720p displays is too much for the dual cores processors to handle.-The 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor is ok, its not that fast but there is no lags.-The camera is good, there is no shutter delay and it takes less than half a... 4/5 Guy1239 - See all my reviews This review is from: HTC Vivid 4G Android Phone, White (AT&T) (Wireless Phone) I have been waiting so long to get this phone. Good Buy

I am not a heavy app user and I didn't want to shell out the big bucks to get the iphone. I was looking for an inexpensive smartphone on which I could view pictures and listen to music. Windows 6.5 is a definite upgrade over the older version, and I am really happy with this phone. The phone looks great and the screen resolution is pretty good for a device in this price range. I also like that the phones displays message data even while the screen is locked. Nifty phone for the price. 5/5 Mr Blister "Mr. S" (the 39th Floor) - See all my reviews This review is from: HTC Pure (Unlocked, US AT&T Version of HTC Touch Diamond2) (Wireless Phone Accessory) I am not a heavy app user and I didn't want to shell out the big bucks to get the iphone. Dumb Smart Phone

I hate this Phone. I've had it for a year and a half now and it doesn't fail in disappointing me. The Processing power is terrible and is always freezing up on me. Reception for this phone is also bad. When it comes to text messaging, you have to go through 3 different displays of the same message before actually typing out your desired message. The phone likes to switch time zones on me too. It switched to California time on me once. And I live in Michigan!! And don't count on the alarm waking you up. It's failed me numerous times.I've taken great care of this phone. But I'm afraid it's below every standard that the market has to offer.I got this phone because I did not want an iPhone. Now, I am seriously rethinking my position. 1/5 S. Can't believe this phone passed quality testing

First, some background - I'm a software developer that has been writing code that either runs on mobile phones or consumer electronic devices that talk to phones, since the late 1990's. I bought this phone for my 14 year old (previous phone - a bullet-proof Samsung BlackJack II of nearly 4 years). The build quality is excellent, well above par for the class. This ain't a Pantech this or Samsung that. Nice aluminum, excellent screen, resolution, size, battery life, the works. The only hardware glitch is the micro USB port needs some care when plugging in, and the battery compartment is a bit too creative. Nothing bad there, just a bit strange. The hardware feels solid. The software is for the birds. Not to offend my former collaborators at Qualcommm, but it really is for the birds.- The HTC Sync does not work. Great as design, but the WORST quality as a phone

I have ordered this phone for two weeks, and at the beginning I was so excited to find a touch screen phone with HTC sense UI, an android-like system (BrewMP OS), a phone without data plan required, and from great HTC. I am tired with iPhone, and have a tablet with Android, so maybe this is the time for me to give a try on a new system. But I am wrong. I only saw the first few reviews which gave me a great favor, but didn't notice the recent ones since May, who has similar experience with me.Pros:1. Great UI design, as HTC sense.2. No data plan required. You can switch on/off $15 unlimited data at any time.3. It is a 3G phone! It can work with ATT MicroCell to boost your signal.Cons:1. Freeze, freeze, freeze! It randomly freezes at any time, without touching anything on it!2. Crash, crash, crash! It can suddenly pops up a message like "Oops, system is rebooting..." The language can be either English or others, randomly!3... 1/5 Kun Zhang - See all my reviews, June 8, 2011

I have been wanting a quality touch screen phone for a while but could not find one I liked that was not a smartphone. This one fits the bill. In 3 days I have already personalized it and more. The call quality is great and quite loud. The ringer volume is quite loud also. The vibration is strong. The phone feels like a quality phone in your hand. Coming from an iPhone 4 I can say it was/is a bit of a transition to Android. Most of the apps are free (ad-supported) which is good, but mostly not on the same quality but this review is not the OS but the phone. This is an excellent phone. I read reviews comparing this to the Samsung Skyrocket so I checked out both. The build quality on the SS is way more plasticky, and to me that does justify the $50 difference. Plus touchwhiz is too much like iPhone, so why would I go to a fake version.HTC V has a great display, is super responsive, and the LTE is nice. To be honest, I only went Android bcuz I wanted a bigger screen and the 4.5" beast here is great. It does not stick out as much in my pocket as I thought it would, iPhone is better handheld but this isn't bad either. Plus it feels sturdier than the SS.To each his own though!! 5/5 Phoenix Genesis "Dantiano" (Worldwide) - See all my reviews This review is from: HTC Vivid 4G Android Phone, Black (AT&T) (Wireless Phone) Coming from an iPhone 4 I can say it was/is a bit of a transition to Android. Most of the apps are free (ad-supported) which is good, but mostly not on the same quality but this review is not the OS but the phone. This is an excellent phone. The best 4G LTE phone for the money

First off, it's pretty clear that some people simply should not be allowed to write product reviews. The negative reviews listed here are laughable. 3 steps to make a phone call? You can customize your home screen as much as you want. You can make a direct dial shortcut and place it on your home screen. It doesn't get any simpler than that. Please ignore these noobs, and get yourself the Vivid. You won't find a phone with better bang for the buck than the Vivid. A huge screen, 4G LTE, Ice Cream Sandwich, qhd display, zippy 1.2 dual core, etc. I picked this phone up as a renewal for a penny. Even managed to call At&t to get the upgrade fee waived. It might take a couple of tries, but keep at it. 5/5 John C. Good spec

This is only one of AT&T's two "true" 4G phone at Thanksgiving 2011, supporting LTE. So it is faster than iPhone4S.If you need to travel outside of USA, AT&T's compatible GSM/WCDMA/UMTS/LTE network will be your choice. Though the 4G/LTE part may not be compatible due to frequency fragmentation. This phone has a qHD display, the highest resolution of them all, of the two AT&T 4G/LTE phones. It's 960x540 pixels, slightly slightly less than the iphone4S's 960x640, bigger than Skyrocket's 800x480. But in smartphone terms, the display of the Vivid is much larger than the iPhone4S. For me it means arguably more comfortable to read books for example. Certainly you can touch type more comfortably. There are now 1280x720 displays, but arguably not all pixels are truly there. Though it makes it easier for software to just display the HD image, instead of rescaling that uses more processing power. And if 960 is good enough for apple fans, it's good enough... 4/5 Piraha Mura "Piraha" (CA USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: HTC Vivid 4G Android Phone, Black (AT&T) (Wireless Phone) This is only one of AT&T's two "true" 4G phone at Thanksgiving 2011, supporting LTE. Love this phone.

I got this phone for $0.01 and no shipping and handling. I kept wondering "what's the catch?" but when I received the phone it was still in its original packaging and great condition. I love it. I haven't found anything wrong with it. I can hear the ringtone and talk on it perfectly. This was a great deal. 5/5 Kelbi - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) One tough smartphone.

This is a great HTC product. I got rid of my Samsung Infuse for this phone, and immediately my husband wanted one too. It's got a metal shell instead of plastic, and fits it my hand perfectly. The camera takes beautiful pictures, it's easy to use, and is as tough as I think a phone can be.After having his phone for almost a year, it fell out of my husband's pocket at a truck stop. He had it in a leather case that clips on your belt, and had one of those plastic cling screen protectors on it. You can see where this is going. . . an 80,000 pound tractor-trailer ran over the phone. Someone found it and was able to call me on it to find out who it belonged to!!! They got it back to him, still in working order. The surface glass of the screen was fully intact, but the color layer looked like a spider web of cracks. This, however has not affected the functionality of the phone at all, minus a few dead pixels here and there and just looking a little "off" from the tiny... 5/5 Shelley b. - See all my reviews This review is from: HTC Inspire 4G Android Phone, Red (AT&T) (Wireless Phone Accessory) This is a great HTC product. First "smartphone" I've had

I cannot praise this phone enough. Once I installed the app killer the battery life went WAY up. You can customize it in so many ways, from different sound for different notifications to different volumes for each! The ringtones available on the phone and for download are varied and good-sounding. Call sound quality is excellent, speakerphone is pretty clear. Many apps available for download. Camera takes great pictures, but trying to take self-portraits is clumsy and difficult because of the placement of the shutter button. The only thing I did not like was having to pay extra for a special data plan, because it's a smartphone. I wish someone would make a comparable non-smartphone! 5/5 Norma Laino (DeKalb, IL, US) - See all my reviews This review is from: HTC Inspire 4G Android Phone, Red (AT&T) (Wireless Phone Accessory) I cannot praise this phone enough. stop whining about locked bootloaders!

I'm tech savvy, but I am also aware that 99% of the users will never bother boot loading their phones, and it's not fair to see the complaints of the remaining 1% occupying 50% of the reviews here, making this excellent phone seem utterly worthless. Now, for the remaining 99%:I like new phones, and I've recently moved from a iPhone 4 to Galaxy SII, now to this HTC One X.First of all, the screen is gorgeous. I loved the Retina Display on the iPhone, and although the Galaxy SII has a vivid OLED display, the resolution is significantly lower, and is further worsened by the larger screen. After getting used to the iPhone 4, I simply can no longer stand pixelation when reading! Another thing about the Samsung OLED is that the color looks a lot more saturated than normal. Therefore the pictures simply look inaccurate - a "normal" looking picture on the phone looks washed out on the computer, and a color-balanced picture on the computer simply looks too... 5/5 C. Outstanding phone - my first Android/HTC

I've had the One X for about a week and just love it after my iphone 3S finally died. I was a bit hesitant to move the the Android eco system but the process is very smooth and Google has alot more features than Apple (like Google play, its free music cloud). The One X is beautifully designed and anybody who has seen it does a double take. Performance is fantastic including the battery which easily goes a 1.5 days w/ moderate use - I haven't come close to draining it in a day even with heavy use. Its very fast in general and the camera is the best on the market - fast, great zoom, etc. HTC's "sense" software makes for easy navigation and is a joy to use. After a week of use, I feel sorry for the folks who bought iphones recently as the hardware and overall experience is vastly inferior. Bravo HTC! 5/5 Donald R. Great phone, if you care about the phone.

    1. Locked bootloader, doesn't concern me, don't need it and I'm sure when I do, someone would have figured out a way.2. 16GB memory with 12GB available to use. Knew about it when I bought the phone, can't complain.3. No micro SD slot. Knew about it when I bought the phone, would have kept my samsung galaxy skyrocket if this was a deal breaker.4. The screen is great in general and I know it's HD, but I would prefer to watch 720P/1080P movies on my 55" big screen than a 4.7 inch phone. It's more for convenience, not a home theatre replacement. That should free up the 12GB available for more movies rather than trying to squeeze 720P movies into a phone.Hands down, best android phone out there. Can't stand Samsung's build quality, even the new S3 is not going to cut it in that department. 5/5 NOT_Kenneth "NK" (Walnut, Ca United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: HTC One X 4G Android Phone, Gray (AT&T) (Wireless Phone) 1. Smooth rubber case

Fine little rubberized case, snaps onto phone in two pieces. Fits very well. I have a screen protector as well. This is not shock protection, it just changes color of phone to matte black and gives some grippiness to a slippery naked HTC Inspire 4G. 4/5 Gustavius - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Overall great product

I bought this case after a good time of research, it arrived early thanks to amazon awesome delivery. You get the case, screen protector and a small cloth all for $9.9 which is a great deal. The case is made for the AT&T HOX since there is a difference in the location of the camera and the bottom speaker between the AT&T and the international version. The case has a matt texture on the back and a glossy one at the edges around the phone, it has a raised lip over the screen surface so it protects the screen when you put the phone upside down. The holes are cut perfectly, and as the earlier review stated the case doesn't protect the camera since it's protruding out from the phone.I didn't apply the screen protector yet but in case you are asking it's a sticker type wich I think you can apply it without the need of a wet preparation.I recommend this case. 4/5 Asaad - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Great product with a major design flaw

I recently purchased a new AT&T HTC One X (HOX) and needed a good quality case to protect my new smartphone investment. I decided to purchase this case based off positive reviews for this manufacturer from other phone models they make cases for. The case had everything I was looking for: good impact protection, easy to remove, and a slim/light design. Coming with a screen protector was just icing on the cake! I received the case and quickly installed on the phone. To my great disappointment, I found the case does NOT protect the phone from resting on the rear camera. While the HOX is a great phone with a great camera, it has a design issue from HTC in that the phone rests on the rear camera lens. In daily use the phone can slide on various surfaces causing a major issue to the safety of the lens. My previous silicone/TPU cases (from other manufacturers) always protected the camera lens; when the phone was laying flat on a surface, the lens would never touch anything. This case... 3/5 Kevin P (San Diego, CA United States) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Nice fitting case, wish it were all matte.

This case fits perfectly, and though I've only used it a couple of days now, I wouldn't expect it to get floppy and stretched out like a silicone case. The case has a very nice matte finish (similar in feel to the phone itself) but does become glossy at near the edges of the screen (again, similar to the phone itself). I would prefer that the whole thing were matte, but all in all, this is still a nice fitting case with a decent texture. 4/5 Seedy - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
