    simplicity manifested through gophone

I've just bought this phone over the past weekend at BB for $15 and bought $25 airtime.Service:So far, I have to say I am quite happy with it. I previously had T-Mobile prepaid but had to switch because I had no service in my house. After switching to AT&T, I can actually make calls/texts in my house. The service is quite cheap as well, I am on the Simple Rate plan. It costs $.10/min to talk which gets deducted from your prepaid balance. Standard texting costs $.25 per text, but I bought 200 messages for $4.99 that lasts for 30 days (Comes to $.02/text).Cell Phone:The phone was super cheap and yet it is quiet sturdy. There is no exterior screen, making it that much more stable/energy efficient. It is quite possibly the simplest phone you can buy new on the market. It does not have the capacitive touchscreen that you will find on an iPhone, it does not have an HD screen, nor does it let you scroll through the internet like you would on your... 4/5 Leandro Creatini (Boston, MA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Samsung a107 Prepaid GoPhone (AT&T) (Wireless Phone Accessory) I've just bought this phone over the past weekend at BB for $15 and bought $25 airtime.Service:So far, I have to say I am quite happy with it. A solution-painless replacement of a lost phone on a family plan

My stepson lost his mother's cellphone. The phone, which my wife did not like much anyway, was on my family plan. My wife prefers clamshell phones so my plan to pass her down my IPhone 3GS was not met with any enthusiasm. So how did I get her a new cellphone, one she likes, put it on the plan, and not extend my plan by another two years? This phone is the answer. First it's a clamshell. Second it is priced right. Third, AT&T will put in a new SIM card for her family plan number. Finally none of this extends my existing plan should I want to switch providers (and I am not sure I do since AT&T is getting better). Now please note that by installing a new SIM card, this becomes a regular cellphone on my plan. It is no longer a prepaid phone. The voice quality is quite good. It has a camera, which my wife is unlikely ever to use. It has what it calls "Apps" was are a few limited and unimaginative mini-programs. It can text, another feature my wife won't... 4/5 G. WARNING: AT&T unethically scamming people

I opted for the pre-paid plan that charges $2.00 for only the days I use the phone. Sounded like a cheap way to have a cell phone without a monthly bill. Wrong.First, the packaging fails to advertise that your pre-paid minutes expire if not used within certain time frames and non-use will deactivate your phone which can never be reactivated or used with another provider. So if you let it lie dormant for 3 months, you can throw it in the garbage.Second, the packaging fails to advertise that AT&T will call my phone every few days and leave voice mail messages. You cannot tell who left a voice mail until you retrieve it, so I must "use" the phone to retrieve the voice mail, and get charged $2.00 to find out that AT&T left a baloney message about billing cycles ending or beginning -- I DON'T HAVE a billing cycle since I'm pre-paid!!! Or they leave messages "reminding" me that the money I have left is "getting low" and other useless baloney messages... 1/5 ssmm - See all my reviews This review is from: Samsung a107 Prepaid GoPhone (AT&T) (Wireless Phone Accessory) I opted for the pre-paid plan that charges $2.00 for only the days I use the phone. Great low cost smart phone

I purchased 2 of these phones for my college aged children. At college and home the students have full WiFi coverage so they don't need a data plan ($0). Using Google voice and WiFi they have full smartphone functionality with no monthly bill, and the kids love the phone. Almost all Android software will run except some of the really high power games that require a dual processor. Purchase a $100 go phone card and you basically get a smart phone for about $20 a month. (including the purchase price and the 1 year service plan) The battery seems to last for days even though the kids are using the phone ALL THE TIME. Only time will tell if the phone will hold up, but at this price the phone only has to last 3 months before we break even versus a traditional plan. I might buy a 3rd for me. 5/5 Rich (Rochester NY) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) A long trip

I bought this phone as a personal phone. I have a work cellphone through AT&T, but it's very basic. I wouldn't say I use my personal phone for much more than texts and the occasional call. I originally went with Straight Talk since I didn't want to pay a lot for monthly service. While with them for a year, I had 4 different phones. Only one was a touchscreen and it had made me wonder if touchscreen phones are just not made for me. This past December, I decided it was time to get a new phone. I tried one of Straight Talk's Androids, but even though Sprint is listed as having excellent coverage at my home address, I could not get any reception inside and only 1 bar outside. A Sprint rep told me to try their prepaid services instead of Straight Talk's. I tried an HTC on Virgin Mobile and had no reception. I returned it and tried a Motorola on Boost Mobile, no reception. I should add that the area I live in has very good - excellent coverage on all the major networks, including full... 5/5 Evan "Evan" - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) An impressive phone for the price and no contract

Pros: 3.5 inch screen is nice (compared to the Thrive's 3.2 inch)5 mega pixel camera takes good pictures.Screen is bright and responsive/ does not look or feel cheapCompatible with most appsGingerbread 2.3.4 runs flawlesslyCall quality is good, speaker isCons: Does Not support Adobe Flash.CPU run at 600MHz (This has not been disclosed anywhere I looked online.)Case feels a little cheapNo flash for the cameraLags when loading big appsBattery life is about 5 hours with heavy use (apps and text/talk)Summary: I had been using the LG Prime since June of 2010 and wanted to upgrade without a contract. I considered an Lg Thrive but didn't like the price point or weight of the phone. Saw this in the AT&T store. I liked the feel of it and the size of the screen. I have had it for about three weeks now and have no complaints. Recalled

I bought this phone and loved it, until the touch screen stopped working. When I called AT&T they informed me that it was recalled in 2009. There is nothing they can do for you either, so don't even waste your money. It will work for a few months and then NOTHING. Now I am out the money. Amazon should take this item off it's site. 1/5 laurahi - See all my reviews This review is from: AT&T Quickfire GTX75 Cell Phone Orange (Wireless Phone Accessory) I bought this phone and loved it, until the touch screen stopped working. Loved this phone!

I bought this phone when it first came out. Which I guess was three years ago? For a touch screen this phone was very durable! I'm a horse rider so I useually go through phones like I do clothes. I've had horses "eat" my phone before. Anyways, I dopped my phone to many times to count on concrete,in mud among other things, the screen never cracked unlike the Iphone and other touch screens. People say it's a crappy phone, though I do not agree. I don't think its the phones I honestly think it's just At&t. I will definitly be buying this phone again! 5/5 onyx_cross - See all my reviews This review is from: AT&T Quickfire GTX75 Cell Phone Orange (Wireless Phone Accessory) I bought this phone when it first came out. This phone worked ok when i first got it, but after a couple of weeks the touch screen would feeze up when i was texting and i had to reset it ever time it did that. Also when i go some where i keep my phone in my back pocket but every time i would put it there it would turn of and i would have to take the battery out to get it to come back on. Theres one more thing you should know before getting this phone. IT IS BIG!! Its so fat and heavy its not worth what i paid for. Trust me this phone is not worth what i paid for,ive had this phone for only couple of months and ive all ready bought a new one of of amazon. i regret buying this phone and i wish i could return it. 2/5 person000 - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) a great way to do smart phone without data

This is a neat phone. It's biggest problem seems to be a lack of battery power, but in part that's because it has some real power using features including GPS and a brilliant touch screen. But for someone like me, who is simply replacing by dumb gophone, I've added a GPS, an MP3 player, a WIFI enable internet browser, and any android ap that I want, all without having to spend more than $8 bucks a month I currently spend for my emergency phone. In fact, I was able to simple switch my SIM card--easy--and I even kept my phone number and cash balance. I do not do data, but rely on WI-FI for surfing the internet. For people who can't justify for themselves spending hundreds if not thousands on a phone over the course of a contract, this is a fabulous way to go!!!! 4/5 RR Fan - See all my reviews This review is from: Pantech Crossover Prepaid Android GoPhone (AT&T) with $25 Airtime Credit (Wireless Phone Accessory) This is a neat phone. Pantech Crossover Go Phone

The phone works fine. It meets my expectations. There was no $25 Airtime Credit. But Amazon made good by crediting my account for the amount of the credit. We live out in the boonies. As a result we have zero bars on the cell phone, that is why we do not own a cell phone but rely on a landline phone. But it is nice to have a portable phone when we are up and about. We use a go-phone and that works well except there is no reception near our house.I heard that Blackberry/iPhones type phones can get better reception. So I thought it was worth giving this type of phone a try as a second go-phone (for the wife) so we can find each other when we are separated in the mall or large mega store. Well it worked. I can now even get one or two bars at my home.I talked to the AT&T representative and he said this type of phone can take advantage of the newer towers and that is why the reception is better than a normal go-phone.There was no $25 airtime credit even... 3/5 James A. 1st Cell Phone

OK I just got this for $39.99 and it seems to be a great phone, but this is my 1st cell phone, so I really wouldn't know a bad phone and features. AT&T only has one lower priced Go Phone at $19.99, but it doesn't have Bluetooth. This has the Bluetooth and a camera. It's a small phone at 3 3/4" x 2" x 3/4" when closed. I wanted a clam shell so I can throw it in my pocket and this fit the bill. You can also get a data plan to do the web and such but I was looking for a reasonably price phone for calls. As with all prepaid phones you have to watch your minutes and expiration, but if you get the $100.00 refill for 1000 minutes they're good for a year and all the prepaid plans roll over the minutes balance if you refill in time. Or get a pay as you go plan and pay every month. The sound is very clear and it's Bluetooth connection to my GPS makes it somewhat hands free. You have a lot of options if you want to get a data plan. IM, mobile email, games & apps and web connection. Serves the intended purpose well

I recently purchased two of these phones, to free us from outrageous monthly "smart" phone bills and actually use a cell phone for its original intended purpose- to make occasional calls when away from home or work. No, these phones will not be confused with iPhones, but you won't have to work a second job to pay your cell phone bill, either. They are small, easily customized, and very reasonable to operate on the 10 cents per minute plan, no monthly charges of any sort. One buys $25.00 worth of airtime, good for three months; unused minutes roll over when more time is purchased. Other plans available include $2.00 per day the phone is used, unlimited on that day, or $50.00 a month for unlimited voice, data, and text messaging. Only two small quibbles keep this phone from getting five stars- it is relatively easy to hit a wrong button and trigger internet access, or at least the beginning of internet access, which, of course, will cost you a few cents. I have actually downgraded my phones several times simply because I don't need all the features and with this phone you can see the screen in almost all lighting conditions. It's simple. Effective. AT&T really didn't like my decision, but you can actually "use" this phone in all dry working conditions. I purchased this phone a little cheaper online through walmart. What a great buy. This phone actually made me d/c from Verizon. Obviously this can't work for everybody (especially if you HAVE TO HAVE internet wherever you go.. ) but here it goes..-----I primarily use wifi either at my home (I have a 30mbps connection) or at my Job. I have no need for data when im "on the go".I purchased an app called "GrooveIP" for 4.99. This app allows you to make/recieve calls through wifi. Call quality is EXCELLENT. (make sure you turn on "adaptive echo canceller and audio processing. leave sync voice off")I bought a 100$ from at&t which is on the phone when I need to make calls/txts when im not in a wifi zone.MY google voice phone number is forwarded to the ATT number and I have an app called AUTOAP that turns off 3g when im connected to wifi. What this means is when Im home, the call will go through wifi and will be free. Love This Phone!!!!

I absolutely love this phone. I've had it for several weeks now and it works great! The apps and the web come up quickly, the pictures are of good quality and the screen clarity is good. I have found only one down side so far and that's that I can't find a case for it yet...but was told they should be in this weekend, so hopefully I'll have that soon. If you're looking for a smartphone/android phone and don't want the hassle of a contract, this phone is absolutely the way to go!!! 5/5 wipate - See all my reviews This review is from: AT&T Fusion Prepaid Android GoPhone (AT&T) (Wireless Phone Accessory) I absolutely love this phone. Great Phone

I've had this phone for almost a year now and other than the occasional dropped call (probably service, not phone), I love it! No, it's not a smartphone, but it does exactly what I need it to do. I'm always using mine to send pictures to Facebook and I have to say that it takes some pretty good pics. It may not be the best phone for someone with big hands as the keys are pretty small and take some getting used to. All in all I would recommend it. 5/5 MissouriGirl - See all my reviews This review is from: Samsung A187 Unlocked Phone with QWERTY Keyboard, 1.3 MP Camera, Music Player and Speakerphone - Unlocked Phone - US Warranty - Blue (Wireless Phone Accessory) I've had this phone for almost a year now and other than the occasional dropped call (probably service, not phone), I love it! Great phone

My blackberry ate the dust so I decided to buy this phone because I did not have an upgrade available. I really like the features and the price is second to none. The weakest part of this phone is the camera and the lack of video camera. The internet is sufficient for my needs. Call quality is very good and there is an external memory slot which is really handy. I would recommend get a silicone skin, amazon has good deals on them. For anyone who needs an att phone and doesn't have an upgrade the a187 is a great choice, highly recommended. 5/5 T. Excellent, Excellent Phone

I love this phone, I have had it a month or so now, it gives me reception in alot of areas that my daughters blackberry will not hardly pick up on. Works great with bluetooth, has a lock on the keypad to keep mishaps from happening if I drop it in my handbag. I may order another before to long, when there is a great phone it seems like they don't stay around long. The battery life is excellent. I charge mine once every three to four days. I am a medium user, talk some, text some, so the phone is far better than what I had before. Battery life was my first concern, did not want to have to recharge everyday, with this one I do not, the speaker works well without problems, the sound quality is very good, volume is easy to up or down (button on the side) if you want camera quality then this phone does not take pics like the iphone, but its decent, if your more concerned about getting reception and good connection then this phone is for you. 5/5 Bluegrass2harmony - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Perfectly good gophone

This cell phone is perfectly good. It works and that's what matters. It is GPRS and not 3G, 4G or even Edge. But since it's not a smart phone you really don't need anything more complicated and "faster". The screen is very good considering the inexpensiveness of this phone. And I like that the home screen has the date and time appropriately placed in a nice manner and not hard to read or huge covering the screen.I can't for the life of me figure out how to change the default button actions for the left/right/top/bottom. I did it once when I first got the phone (years ago) and can't figure it out now. I'll have to check the user manual. The phone is quick and not laggy like a lot of very cheap phones. And to turn it off or on isn't slow either. It boots up very fast and is ready to use within a few seconds. 4/5 Brittany D (OH) - See all my reviews This review is from: AT&T R225 Prepaid GoPhone (Wireless Phone Accessory) This cell phone is perfectly good. This is a nice little phone for the price. It's small, lightweight, and sturdy. Dropping it isn't going to do much damage to it. Very reliable product. It is what it is, though. easy for phone calls, texting so-so

I got this phone a few weeks ago because my smartphone had too many quirks and I have several months before I can upgrade. It works great for phone calls. Answering and disconnecting calls is so easy to do, no sliding like with the android. But as far as texting it is not the best. I like larger buttons and that is why I wanted a slide out keyboard. But the buttons are too small to easily text. I also noticed that the screen is not as sensitive to touch as it should be. Trying to get something on the screen to move or work can be frustrating because it takes some effort to manipulate, move, whatever. The battery is not as bad as some reviewers have stated. It lasts a couple of days with normal use. It is NOT a smartphone so don't expect it to be. But, all-in-all, I give it a B overall. 3/5 P. Decent Phone

So, I got this phone to use with a plan we already have. It's pretty good for texting (threaded texts), taking a reasonable picture, or using instant messenger.A few things I don't like about it:There's no subject line for if you want to add a caption to a picture you are sending to facebook via mms.The middle button, when pressed at the home menu, will bring up the internet. (Creates bad accidents if you don't have a good data plan)If the directional button is pushed to the left, email pops up. (Another thing to remember to avoid)Menus are cumbersome if you don't set shortcuts.I've had some issues where my keyboard input is lysdexic and places letters in the wrong order from what I typed.Adding a ringtone is difficult for this phone, unless maybe you buy one through at&t. I haven't used the feature to find out, sorry. Conclusion: All in all, I think it's a very useful phone. It's definitely not as capable as a smartphone, but... 4/5 J.
