Marvelous Galaxy S II Skyrocket 4G LTE Android Phone

This Skyrocket has a fabulous and elegant feel to it. Its 1.5 GHz dual-core processor is super fast. The photo resolution and flash are excellent and very vivid. The Swype Keyboard is top notch and easy to learn and use. This phone has an internal 16GB and it has a microSD card slot expandable up to 32GB. 4 1/2 stars

My first smartphone was the Samsung Galaxy S (Captivate), then the Samsung Infuse, which was a faster, bigger Captivate, and now the SII Skyrocket, so you could say I've seen the evolution of Samsung's Android phones and software.Let me start by saying this is an awesome phone. Amazing, even. When I compare it to my 1 year old Samsung Infuse, it blows it out of the water in every respect (except the screen, which I'll get to later).UI - The UI on this phone is fantastic. I personally find Touchwiz to be a nice add on to Android. The notification bar switches are VERY useful, especially Wifi, rotation, and GPS. This phone has many added animations, which make everything look much smoother than stock Android. The new widgets like the Calendar and Photo Frame are very nice and add a lot to my home screens. The Phone/Messaging apps are some of the best I've seen. The camera is simpler than before, so easier to use. Overall the UI is a great improvement... 5/5 Ro - See all my reviews This review is from: Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket 4G Android Phone, White (AT&T) (Wireless Phone) My first smartphone was the Samsung Galaxy S (Captivate), then the Samsung Infuse, which was a faster, bigger Captivate, and now the SII Skyrocket, so you could say I've seen the evolution of Samsung's Android phones and software.Let me start by saying this is an awesome phone. Better than the iPhone 4 ?

I don't write many reviews for products that I buy, but this product deserves some recognition. In a few words: It is amazing. I love many things about this phone that I may have to list the pros and cons...I think I will actually do just that:ProsLarge screenThe screen, measured diagonally, is about 4.3". This is very large. If you are used to a smaller screen like on the iPhone, get ready for some adaptation to this phone. The screen's size makes it easier to see things like text, pictures, etc. The only bad thing about this screen is that when you compare it to the iPhone 4, you can tell that the Inspire does not have a "Retina Display" as Apple calls it. In other words, you can more easily see pixels displayed on the Inspire than you can on the iPhone 4. Although, don't get me wrong. The Inspire's screen is very nice and sharp with good brightness settings overall, it just isn't as sharp as the iPhone 4's screen. Also, the outer screen... 5/5 Brad Setzer "Brad" (NC, United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: HTC Inspire 4G Android Phone, Black (AT&T) (Wireless Phone) I don't write many reviews for products that I buy, but this product deserves some recognition. Powerful phone, good price

2 weeks into use, I've got to say I'm very satisfied. This is a powerful phone for only $50-$100 at various retailers. What's nice:- Solid, high quality feel (and I actually like the fact that it has some weight).- Beautiful U.I. with the most recent HTC Sense update.- Maps is pre-cached, helps with navigation and in areas with bad reception (welcome to at&t!).- Great hardware, I have not had any issues with lag or freezing. Pulse is the only app I've had to force-quit (twice). My advice to get the most out of this device:- Upgrade your data plan to $25/month for 2GB. I went through 140MB on the first day (downloading apps, customizing, and setting up the device).- If you are having difficulty opening the battery door, get your fingernail right underneath the edge of the battery cover near the bottom of the volume rocker and pull away from device like you are trying to break it off (It pops-off rather than slide-off like the... 5/5 Alexson Lim (San Luis Obispo, CA) - See all my reviews, March 4, 2011

    First android phone- Love it!

Android:I am blown away by the all the different apps and features of the android in general. I have not felt this shocked by a electronic device since I used the internet for the first time in 1995. It is not as idiot proof as apple's operating system though. I find myself spending quite a bit of time getting used to where all the settings are located for various programs- there are just so many options for everything. This is fine for me since I consider myself relatively tech savvy, but for some users, this may be overwhelming. Although I love this phone, I am recommending my 50+ year old parents to buy the iphone because I think the iOS operating system is much easier to use.As for this phone:It is my first android phone and I really love this phone, but it has some areas with rooms for improvement. HTC did include all the features one could want in a phone.-Battery life is shorter than I would like in a phone- I charge it everyday. My ipad on... 4/5 F. Great low cost smart phone

I purchased 2 of these phones for my college aged children. At college and home the students have full WiFi coverage so they don't need a data plan ($0). Using Google voice and WiFi they have full smartphone functionality with no monthly bill, and the kids love the phone. Almost all Android software will run except some of the really high power games that require a dual processor. Purchase a $100 go phone card and you basically get a smart phone for about $20 a month. (including the purchase price and the 1 year service plan) The battery seems to last for days even though the kids are using the phone ALL THE TIME. Only time will tell if the phone will hold up, but at this price the phone only has to last 3 months before we break even versus a traditional plan. I might buy a 3rd for me. 5/5 Rich (Rochester NY) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) A long trip

I bought this phone as a personal phone. I have a work cellphone through AT&T, but it's very basic. I wouldn't say I use my personal phone for much more than texts and the occasional call. I originally went with Straight Talk since I didn't want to pay a lot for monthly service. While with them for a year, I had 4 different phones. Only one was a touchscreen and it had made me wonder if touchscreen phones are just not made for me. This past December, I decided it was time to get a new phone. I tried one of Straight Talk's Androids, but even though Sprint is listed as having excellent coverage at my home address, I could not get any reception inside and only 1 bar outside. A Sprint rep told me to try their prepaid services instead of Straight Talk's. I tried an HTC on Virgin Mobile and had no reception. I returned it and tried a Motorola on Boost Mobile, no reception. I should add that the area I live in has very good - excellent coverage on all the major networks, including full... 5/5 Evan "Evan" - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Infuse vs Captivate

I've never had a phone or PDA where I didn't have to sacrifice a lot to get something else. Not with this one. I am a Google addict. I use Google Docs, Tasks, Contacts, GMail, Calendar, etc. So of course this phone works perfectly with all of that and syncs well with my Galaxy Tab, Windows 7 PC and MacBook Air.Before this I had a Captivate running Froyo and wasn't sure if switching would be worth the cost, as I mainly have just wanted a bigger screen. I don't know why iPhone does so well at only 3.5". You can't read text on something that small. I could barely stand 4" Captivate. 4.5" seems to be the sweet spot. Especially since the phone is so thin and light. Perfect width for telephone conversation and surfing, typing. The biggest surprise though is the battery life. I have never had a smartphone last a whole day and I do not talk much on them or play media. Just surfing, texting and updating calendar, tasks, etc usually drains the battery. On my Captivate I... 5/5 Todd Stevens (North Carolina) - See all my reviews, May 19, 2011

    This Phone Is Snappy!

You are going to hear a lot of opinions on how this phone isn't dual core, isn't the Galaxy S II, too big, blah blah blah. Unless you simply must have the "next generation" phone this fall, if you are looking for the BEST AT&T Android phone, the Samsung Infuse is it.On paper, I didn't upgrade by much...I already had the pretty good Samsung Captivate. But after a few minutes with the Infuse, I could already tell this was a great phone. The performance is so snappy and quick. I don't have official benchmarks but for instance, I am a heavy Google Reader user. On the Captivate, when I would choose "Mark All Previous Read", it would take, on average, 10 seconds. Now, it is about 1 second. This is on both Wi-Fi and "4G". App loading and closing is also much faster. I did have my home menu in a long "spinning symbol" after running some apps and I even rebooted but it has since not returned. The screen is absolutely beautiful. Bight, big and sharp. The screen size was... 5/5 Brian A. Wolters (Cabot, Arkansas) - See all my reviews, May 16, 2011

Arguably the best. Far better than iphone

I used the iphone 2G, 3GS and iphone 4. Of course the last one had major issues with the dropped reception. I have been looking for an andriod phone to get me off Apple and iphone, but NO ONE could match the touch feeling of the iphone. Blackberry touch, you have to tap several times, even Motorola Atrix the response was not great and I returned it. Besides that in the Atrix email program, I could not see Html mail well. Then I heard that Samsung makes the screen that iphone uses and I had heard good feedback on the Galaxy series, that their touch was super. I decided to go with a Samsung product.Outstanding. a great way to do smart phone without data

This is a neat phone. It's biggest problem seems to be a lack of battery power, but in part that's because it has some real power using features including GPS and a brilliant touch screen. But for someone like me, who is simply replacing by dumb gophone, I've added a GPS, an MP3 player, a WIFI enable internet browser, and any android ap that I want, all without having to spend more than $8 bucks a month I currently spend for my emergency phone. In fact, I was able to simple switch my SIM card--easy--and I even kept my phone number and cash balance. I do not do data, but rely on WI-FI for surfing the internet. For people who can't justify for themselves spending hundreds if not thousands on a phone over the course of a contract, this is a fabulous way to go!!!! 4/5 RR Fan - See all my reviews This review is from: Pantech Crossover Prepaid Android GoPhone (AT&T) with $25 Airtime Credit (Wireless Phone Accessory) This is a neat phone. Pantech Crossover Go Phone

The phone works fine. It meets my expectations. There was no $25 Airtime Credit. But Amazon made good by crediting my account for the amount of the credit. We live out in the boonies. As a result we have zero bars on the cell phone, that is why we do not own a cell phone but rely on a landline phone. But it is nice to have a portable phone when we are up and about. We use a go-phone and that works well except there is no reception near our house.I heard that Blackberry/iPhones type phones can get better reception. So I thought it was worth giving this type of phone a try as a second go-phone (for the wife) so we can find each other when we are separated in the mall or large mega store. Well it worked. I can now even get one or two bars at my home.I talked to the AT&T representative and he said this type of phone can take advantage of the newer towers and that is why the reception is better than a normal go-phone.There was no $25 airtime credit even... 3/5 James A. Top Phone on the market

Been playing around with this phone since Thanksgiving.Earlier this month, the bootloader finally got an unlock, which allowed me to root and install custom roms. This little thing is fast, even if it has an underclocked 1.2 ghz processor. Bloatware can be removed with root.Replaces my netbook, which I no longer lug around because I have hspa+ on this phone (4g LTE not available in my area yet) web browser is super snappy.Low volume can be remedied by market apps that boost the equilizer settings.Chose this over the samsung galaxy s2 skyrocket because, like many other reviews, the colors on the screen come out clearer and in higher definition on the vivid. Netflix and NBA leaguepass play flawlessly on its 4.5 in screen, which is gorgeous.Camera is amazing. Haven't had much time to play around with it though.Got a case for it and it makes the volume rocker and power button much less likely to be accidently pressed... 5/5 Painter - See all my reviews This review is from: HTC Vivid 4G Android Phone, White (AT&T) (Wireless Phone) Been playing around with this phone since Thanksgiving.Earlier this month, the bootloader finally got an unlock, which allowed me to root and install custom roms. A Unique Phone

I have been waiting so long to get this phone. I have read all the reviews about it and was very excited when I first got my hands on it. But after hours of using and checking it out, I came to this following conclusion:THE WHITE VERSION OF THE VIVID IS THE MOST SEXIEST DESIGN YET!The phone looks very luxurious in my hand, the soft smooth plastic and my favorite part which is the hard grey metal cover on the back. The weight of the phone what gives its uniqueness, people might dislike this but all the other light phones gives them a cheapy feel. However, let me get to the pros and cons:Pros:-The screen resolution is brilliant! It is true there is now phones with 720p displays but believe me, qHD is more than enough, plus the 720p displays is too much for the dual cores processors to handle.-The 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor is ok, its not that fast but there is no lags.-The camera is good, there is no shutter delay and it takes less than half a... 4/5 Guy1239 - See all my reviews This review is from: HTC Vivid 4G Android Phone, White (AT&T) (Wireless Phone) I have been waiting so long to get this phone. Purchase! Purchase! Purchase!

I love this phone, love AT&T 4G Lte, dislike that there was no memory card included because I am a big music junkie.Love this color, black is undesireable to me. On another note, I wouldn't purchase from Amazon if you are upgrading on a family plan because it would be 160 something dollars here, but on AT&T's website, it is just 100, so cheaper! but all in all I reccomend this product to everyone! 5/5 Joyyswainn - See all my reviews This review is from: HTC Vivid 4G Android Phone, White (AT&T) (Wireless Phone) I love this phone, love AT&T 4G Lte, dislike that there was no memory card included because I am a big music junkie.Love this color, black is undesireable to me. GREAT PHONE!!!

I purchased this phone a little cheaper online through walmart. What a great buy. This phone actually made me d/c from Verizon. Obviously this can't work for everybody (especially if you HAVE TO HAVE internet wherever you go.. ) but here it goes..-----I primarily use wifi either at my home (I have a 30mbps connection) or at my Job. I have no need for data when im "on the go".I purchased an app called "GrooveIP" for 4.99. This app allows you to make/recieve calls through wifi. Call quality is EXCELLENT. (make sure you turn on "adaptive echo canceller and audio processing. leave sync voice off")I bought a 100$ from at&t which is on the phone when I need to make calls/txts when im not in a wifi zone.MY google voice phone number is forwarded to the ATT number and I have an app called AUTOAP that turns off 3g when im connected to wifi. What this means is when Im home, the call will go through wifi and will be free. Love This Phone!!!!

I absolutely love this phone. I've had it for several weeks now and it works great! The apps and the web come up quickly, the pictures are of good quality and the screen clarity is good. I have found only one down side so far and that's that I can't find a case for it yet...but was told they should be in this weekend, so hopefully I'll have that soon. Great phone for a good price

decent android phone for a reasonable price; have been using is since Oct17th. never had a problem. Battery life is good up to this point, I am texting and surfing most of the time, wireless and background data are on, at the end of the day, when I get back to home, battery remains 20~30%. camera is impressive havent used that much however outdoor trials came out as good as a point and shoot camera. it is really a fast phone; never had a crashing problem yet, it runs smooth and fast.couple issue that may concern a buyer; not having headphones and mini hdmi cable included in the retail package. glad to have a front camera option however skype video talking didn't work on the phone (waiting skype* to include this phone in video talking portfolio). the shortcut touch buttons at the bottom of the screen doesn't illuminate sometimes (light sensor might be the reason).Update @Nov22, it has been a month and still enjoying to use this android phone; just had one issue tho;... 5/5 O. Great Phone!

I discovered this phone when Amazon did their 1 cent promo. ( That was for new customers only and not upgrade customers so I got mine at Best Buy for FREE on Black Friday.. But $49 is still a steal for this phone) I promptly called my android fanatic brother who informed me that it is basically the Droid Bionic that costs $299 with contract. I read the reviews and decided to take the leap from Iphone 4 to this Atrix 2. I have been longing for a larger screen for a while now, but didn't want to spend $ to switch and I love the iphone! But, this deal got me to switch. Nothing compares to the iphone. That is a different beast altogether. My main thing was I wanted one of those 4.3 inch screens! This fits the deal. It is a gorgeous screen. I'm still getting used to google ( Android ) but it's a learning curve and so far worth it. With google music, it takes all of your newest itunes music ( the DRM free music that has been $1.29 on itunes basically ) and your cd's that you may have... 5/5 Sean - See all my reviews This review is from: Motorola Atrix 2 4G Android Phone (AT&T) (Wireless Phone) I discovered this phone when Amazon did their 1 cent promo. Amazing phone even for a phone snob!

I spent many years selling phones for Bestbuy as well as for Alltel on the corporate side. I have also worked selling phones third party for many companies. My expectations for phones are pretty high. That being side I got this as a free upgrade at Bestbuy last Sunday. This is an amazing piece of hardware and a really usuable phone.PROS*Very responsive and stable. I was a bit wary going back to an Android phone. So far it has been amazing. I experience pretty instant responses.*I love the screen it is clear and crisp and the touch response is amazing.*The apps are great. While keeping an eye on the Amazon daily free app you can build a decent collection of apps. Also all the heavy hitters are here just like on the Iphone.*It has an expandable SD slot for up to 32gb's. This is something that both the Apple and current Windows phones lack.*I love Zumocast the streaming app provided through Motorola. As well as the software interface. I have yet... 5/5 C. B. Fast. Complicated. Eats megabytes for breakfast.

I've checked out what other reviewers have had to say about this phone, and find myself in agreement with most of them. The phone is amazing. Here's what else you need to know:a) data planb) appsc) user manualData Plan: you will need a separate data plan for the phone. My wife has an iPhone 3G, with an unlimited data plan from AT&T. But that phone doesn't use the 4G LTE network. AT&T is slowing building out its 4G LTE network, and it may not be available in your area. You have to buy a plan whether or not you currently have 4G LTE coverage. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that 4G LTE was available in my area, even though the official AT&T coverage map didn't include it.I bought a 200 megabyte per month plan. It seemed like a lot of bytes. Then I started using my phone. Trulia has a great app that lets you find the houses for sale in whatever neighborhood you find yourself in. You can see the entire listing, just... 4/5 Robert Felice (Silicon Valley Boy) - See all my reviews, January 9, 2012

    Great Phone

This is a great phone, I have owned it for 3 days now and i really like it. The build quality is great, even though it is plastic. The phone itself looks beautiful and feels great, the weight is also good it doesn't feel to light or to heavy. The screen is one of the best ive seen on any phone. Everything cant be perfect though.I am not in a lte market so i cant comment on that aspect. As far as the phone goes you do have to keep a couple of things in mind. The phone has a 4.5 inch screen, although this sounds great it has some obvious draw backs. With the screen being so big one of the draw backs is size. It is not a comfortable phone to carry around and putting it in you're pocket as well as pulling it out can be awkward. I wear slim jeans and this has become an annoyance. When you talk on it you notice the size, it feels like holding a scientific calculator to you're ear.The second draw back is once again the screen size. This being 4.5 inches it takes up... 4/5 Eliseo Roman (Hawthorne, Ca) - See all my reviews, November 11, 2011

    Review for Samsung Skyrocket

I will start with the bad things first:Price: I initially bought it from Amazon wireless and they said it won't be delivered until December, so I canceled my order and went with ATT premier store and paid full price on the phone. It is like 70 dollars more.Battery: I took it off the charger at 9am today, right now it is almost 2pm and I am at 63%, I did used Google Navigation (while charging in the car). And mostly light browsing, power saving mode seems to help a lot, with 60 percent it can last me till the end of the day with almost 5% left. (Tested that yesterday) So battery life is not great but given it is an LTE phone with 4.5 inch screen, I would say this is 50/50.Accessories: Lack of accessories for now, you might want to get a good case for this considering it is a very delicate and expensive phone, you don't want to test the durability yourself. And no HD screen. & ATT customer service, ATT wouldn't give me the unlock code even... 4/5 Tech Gadget geek "gadget testing geek" (Chicago, IL USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket 4G Android Phone, Black (AT&T) (Wireless Phone) I will start with the bad things first:Price: I initially bought it from Amazon wireless and they said it won't be delivered until December, so I canceled my order and went with ATT premier store and paid full price on the phone.
