    4 1/2 stars

My first smartphone was the Samsung Galaxy S (Captivate), then the Samsung Infuse, which was a faster, bigger Captivate, and now the SII Skyrocket, so you could say I've seen the evolution of Samsung's Android phones and software.Let me start by saying this is an awesome phone. Amazing, even. When I compare it to my 1 year old Samsung Infuse, it blows it out of the water in every respect (except the screen, which I'll get to later).UI - The UI on this phone is fantastic. I personally find Touchwiz to be a nice add on to Android. The notification bar switches are VERY useful, especially Wifi, rotation, and GPS. This phone has many added animations, which make everything look much smoother than stock Android. The new widgets like the Calendar and Photo Frame are very nice and add a lot to my home screens. The Phone/Messaging apps are some of the best I've seen. The camera is simpler than before, so easier to use. Overall the UI is a great improvement... 5/5 Ro - See all my reviews This review is from: Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket 4G Android Phone, White (AT&T) (Wireless Phone) My first smartphone was the Samsung Galaxy S (Captivate), then the Samsung Infuse, which was a faster, bigger Captivate, and now the SII Skyrocket, so you could say I've seen the evolution of Samsung's Android phones and software.Let me start by saying this is an awesome phone. A nice phone, good battery life, snappy and perfect size.

I previously had an iPhone 3G, I loved that phone but it broke and I wasn't ready to sign a new contract so I moved to Virgin Mobiles Optimus V. I liked that phone as it was my first step into the android world. I then bought (and returned) a Motorola Triumph which was supposed to be a good phone but it failed. I then finally decided to step up to the Galaxy S2 and while it's only been a few days I'm very pleased.Battery life:I started my day out yesterday around 5:30 am, as I drove to work I had a video podcast playing on the phone and that ran for around 30 minutes during my commute. I got to work and then started playing a little with the phone but mainly using it for web browsing and listening to Audio the remainder of the day. I did play some words with friends, downloaded a few new apps from the market and showed off the phone and by 1:30 pm I was at 60% battery life. Not bad to only use 40% in 8 hours. At that rate it's approx 5% battery per hour which tells... 4/5 J. Haggard (Nashville, TN) - See all my reviews, October 12, 2011

Galaxy S II versus iPhone 4S? Can't go wrong with either

After being an iPhone / iOS user for a year and a half and as an Android / Atrix user for only 6 months (thankfully without a contract extension), I used that saved upgrade subsidy on getting a SGS2. After following the rave reviews overseas about it, and after enjoying the developer friendly Android OS, I figured this would be the phone I would use for the next few years. Overall, it is an absolute gem of a phone that has little nuances here and there. When compared to an Atrix 4G, it's absolutely night and day. All the hype over Samsung's AMOLED Plus screen is no joke. The colors are absolutely brilliant in comparison to Motorola's Pentile display. Moving about the screen is silky smooth, with no lag at all. Going back to the Atrix, you can tell the motion from screen to screen just isn't as sweeping. The camera differences are amazing different, both in pictures and in video. Color in the pictures taken by the SGS2 is just much crisper and deeper, especially with black... 5/5 Esc. - See all my reviews This review is from: Samsung Galaxy S II 4G Android Phone (AT&T) (Wireless Phone) After being an iPhone / iOS user for a year and a half and as an Android / Atrix user for only 6 months (thankfully without a contract extension), I used that saved upgrade subsidy on getting a SGS2. Near perfect phone

My first foray into the smartphone world has my friends extremely jealous. I have played around with other people's smartphones for years, and never saw one as close to perfect as this one is. Great battery life, beautiful screen, wickedly fast processor (has set a record in quadrant benchmark), decent reception and call quality, and a strong gps that locks on my indoor location even in windowless rooms without the assistance of wireless networks! About the only thing that is missing is an LED notification light, but that is easily remedied with the Marketplace App "NoLED," which does the trick nicely. I have also used the very buggy Epic 4G Touch on Sprint, and the form factor on this phone is superb -- not too big and classically simple aesthetics. 5/5 John Winters - See all my reviews This review is from: Samsung Galaxy S II 4G Android Phone (AT&T) (Wireless Phone) My first foray into the smartphone world has my friends extremely jealous. Infuse vs Captivate

I've never had a phone or PDA where I didn't have to sacrifice a lot to get something else. Not with this one. I am a Google addict. I use Google Docs, Tasks, Contacts, GMail, Calendar, etc. So of course this phone works perfectly with all of that and syncs well with my Galaxy Tab, Windows 7 PC and MacBook Air.Before this I had a Captivate running Froyo and wasn't sure if switching would be worth the cost, as I mainly have just wanted a bigger screen. I don't know why iPhone does so well at only 3.5". You can't read text on something that small. I could barely stand 4" Captivate. 4.5" seems to be the sweet spot. Especially since the phone is so thin and light. Perfect width for telephone conversation and surfing, typing. The biggest surprise though is the battery life. I have never had a smartphone last a whole day and I do not talk much on them or play media. Just surfing, texting and updating calendar, tasks, etc usually drains the battery. On my Captivate I... 5/5 Todd Stevens (North Carolina) - See all my reviews, May 19, 2011

    This Phone Is Snappy!

You are going to hear a lot of opinions on how this phone isn't dual core, isn't the Galaxy S II, too big, blah blah blah. Unless you simply must have the "next generation" phone this fall, if you are looking for the BEST AT&T Android phone, the Samsung Infuse is it.On paper, I didn't upgrade by much...I already had the pretty good Samsung Captivate. But after a few minutes with the Infuse, I could already tell this was a great phone. The performance is so snappy and quick. I don't have official benchmarks but for instance, I am a heavy Google Reader user. On the Captivate, when I would choose "Mark All Previous Read", it would take, on average, 10 seconds. Now, it is about 1 second. This is on both Wi-Fi and "4G". App loading and closing is also much faster. I did have my home menu in a long "spinning symbol" after running some apps and I even rebooted but it has since not returned. The screen is absolutely beautiful. Bight, big and sharp. The screen size was... 5/5 Brian A. Wolters (Cabot, Arkansas) - See all my reviews, May 16, 2011

Arguably the best. Far better than iphone

I used the iphone 2G, 3GS and iphone 4. Of course the last one had major issues with the dropped reception. I have been looking for an andriod phone to get me off Apple and iphone, but NO ONE could match the touch feeling of the iphone. Blackberry touch, you have to tap several times, even Motorola Atrix the response was not great and I returned it. Besides that in the Atrix email program, I could not see Html mail well. Then I heard that Samsung makes the screen that iphone uses and I had heard good feedback on the Galaxy series, that their touch was super. I decided to go with a Samsung product.Outstanding. Impressive. Forget Iphone.Touch: the response is super, even better than the iphone. Yes even better.HTML Email: Excellent, reads it very well.Speed: Excellent processes requests very fastbattery: Wow! for the smartphones these days that barely last a day, I have gone 3 days so far and not needed a charge. Great low cost smart phone

I purchased 2 of these phones for my college aged children. At college and home the students have full WiFi coverage so they don't need a data plan ($0). Using Google voice and WiFi they have full smartphone functionality with no monthly bill, and the kids love the phone. Almost all Android software will run except some of the really high power games that require a dual processor. Purchase a $100 go phone card and you basically get a smart phone for about $20 a month. (including the purchase price and the 1 year service plan) The battery seems to last for days even though the kids are using the phone ALL THE TIME. Only time will tell if the phone will hold up, but at this price the phone only has to last 3 months before we break even versus a traditional plan. I might buy a 3rd for me. 5/5 Rich (Rochester NY) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) A long trip

I bought this phone as a personal phone. I have a work cellphone through AT&T, but it's very basic. I wouldn't say I use my personal phone for much more than texts and the occasional call. I originally went with Straight Talk since I didn't want to pay a lot for monthly service. While with them for a year, I had 4 different phones. Only one was a touchscreen and it had made me wonder if touchscreen phones are just not made for me. This past December, I decided it was time to get a new phone. I tried one of Straight Talk's Androids, but even though Sprint is listed as having excellent coverage at my home address, I could not get any reception inside and only 1 bar outside. A Sprint rep told me to try their prepaid services instead of Straight Talk's. I tried an HTC on Virgin Mobile and had no reception. I returned it and tried a Motorola on Boost Mobile, no reception. I should add that the area I live in has very good - excellent coverage on all the major networks, including full... 5/5 Evan "Evan" - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Great phone for a good price

decent android phone for a reasonable price; have been using is since Oct17th. never had a problem. Battery life is good up to this point, I am texting and surfing most of the time, wireless and background data are on, at the end of the day, when I get back to home, battery remains 20~30%. camera is impressive havent used that much however outdoor trials came out as good as a point and shoot camera. it is really a fast phone; never had a crashing problem yet, it runs smooth and fast.couple issue that may concern a buyer; not having headphones and mini hdmi cable included in the retail package. glad to have a front camera option however skype video talking didn't work on the phone (waiting skype* to include this phone in video talking portfolio). the shortcut touch buttons at the bottom of the screen doesn't illuminate sometimes (light sensor might be the reason).Update @Nov22, it has been a month and still enjoying to use this android phone; just had one issue tho;... 5/5 O. Great Phone!

I discovered this phone when Amazon did their 1 cent promo. ( That was for new customers only and not upgrade customers so I got mine at Best Buy for FREE on Black Friday.. But $49 is still a steal for this phone) I promptly called my android fanatic brother who informed me that it is basically the Droid Bionic that costs $299 with contract. I read the reviews and decided to take the leap from Iphone 4 to this Atrix 2. I have been longing for a larger screen for a while now, but didn't want to spend $ to switch and I love the iphone! But, this deal got me to switch. Nothing compares to the iphone. That is a different beast altogether. My main thing was I wanted one of those 4.3 inch screens! This fits the deal. It is a gorgeous screen. I'm still getting used to google ( Android ) but it's a learning curve and so far worth it. With google music, it takes all of your newest itunes music ( the DRM free music that has been $1.29 on itunes basically ) and your cd's that you may have... 5/5 Sean - See all my reviews This review is from: Motorola Atrix 2 4G Android Phone (AT&T) (Wireless Phone) I discovered this phone when Amazon did their 1 cent promo. Amazing phone even for a phone snob!

I spent many years selling phones for Bestbuy as well as for Alltel on the corporate side. I have also worked selling phones third party for many companies. My expectations for phones are pretty high. That being side I got this as a free upgrade at Bestbuy last Sunday. This is an amazing piece of hardware and a really usuable phone.PROS*Very responsive and stable. I was a bit wary going back to an Android phone. So far it has been amazing. I experience pretty instant responses.*I love the screen it is clear and crisp and the touch response is amazing.*The apps are great. While keeping an eye on the Amazon daily free app you can build a decent collection of apps. Also all the heavy hitters are here just like on the Iphone.*It has an expandable SD slot for up to 32gb's. This is something that both the Apple and current Windows phones lack.*I love Zumocast the streaming app provided through Motorola. As well as the software interface. I have yet... 5/5 C. B. Coming from an iPhone 4 I can say it was/is a bit of a transition to Android. Most of the apps are free (ad-supported) which is good, but mostly not on the same quality but this review is not the OS but the phone. This is an excellent phone. I read reviews comparing this to the Samsung Skyrocket so I checked out both. The build quality on the SS is way more plasticky, and to me that does justify the $50 difference. Plus touchwhiz is too much like iPhone, so why would I go to a fake version.HTC V has a great display, is super responsive, and the LTE is nice. To be honest, I only went Android bcuz I wanted a bigger screen and the 4.5" beast here is great. It does not stick out as much in my pocket as I thought it would, iPhone is better handheld but this isn't bad either. Plus it feels sturdier than the SS.To each his own though!! 5/5 Phoenix Genesis "Dantiano" (Worldwide) - See all my reviews This review is from: HTC Vivid 4G Android Phone, Black (AT&T) (Wireless Phone) Coming from an iPhone 4 I can say it was/is a bit of a transition to Android. Most of the apps are free (ad-supported) which is good, but mostly not on the same quality but this review is not the OS but the phone. This is an excellent phone. The best 4G LTE phone for the money

First off, it's pretty clear that some people simply should not be allowed to write product reviews. The negative reviews listed here are laughable. 3 steps to make a phone call? You can customize your home screen as much as you want. You can make a direct dial shortcut and place it on your home screen. It doesn't get any simpler than that. Please ignore these noobs, and get yourself the Vivid. You won't find a phone with better bang for the buck than the Vivid. A huge screen, 4G LTE, Ice Cream Sandwich, qhd display, zippy 1.2 dual core, etc. I picked this phone up as a renewal for a penny. Even managed to call At&t to get the upgrade fee waived. It might take a couple of tries, but keep at it. 5/5 John C. Good spec

This is only one of AT&T's two "true" 4G phone at Thanksgiving 2011, supporting LTE. So it is faster than iPhone4S.If you need to travel outside of USA, AT&T's compatible GSM/WCDMA/UMTS/LTE network will be your choice. Though the 4G/LTE part may not be compatible due to frequency fragmentation. This phone has a qHD display, the highest resolution of them all, of the two AT&T 4G/LTE phones. It's 960x540 pixels, slightly slightly less than the iphone4S's 960x640, bigger than Skyrocket's 800x480. But in smartphone terms, the display of the Vivid is much larger than the iPhone4S. For me it means arguably more comfortable to read books for example. Certainly you can touch type more comfortably. There are now 1280x720 displays, but arguably not all pixels are truly there. Though it makes it easier for software to just display the HD image, instead of rescaling that uses more processing power. And if 960 is good enough for apple fans, it's good enough... 4/5 Piraha Mura "Piraha" (CA USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: HTC Vivid 4G Android Phone, Black (AT&T) (Wireless Phone) This is only one of AT&T's two "true" 4G phone at Thanksgiving 2011, supporting LTE. Love this phone.

I got this phone for $0.01 and no shipping and handling. I kept wondering "what's the catch?" but when I received the phone it was still in its original packaging and great condition. I love it. I haven't found anything wrong with it. I can hear the ringtone and talk on it perfectly. This was a great deal. 5/5 Kelbi - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) One tough smartphone.

This is a great HTC product. I got rid of my Samsung Infuse for this phone, and immediately my husband wanted one too. It's got a metal shell instead of plastic, and fits it my hand perfectly. The camera takes beautiful pictures, it's easy to use, and is as tough as I think a phone can be.After having his phone for almost a year, it fell out of my husband's pocket at a truck stop. He had it in a leather case that clips on your belt, and had one of those plastic cling screen protectors on it. You can see where this is going. . . an 80,000 pound tractor-trailer ran over the phone. Someone found it and was able to call me on it to find out who it belonged to!!! They got it back to him, still in working order. The surface glass of the screen was fully intact, but the color layer looked like a spider web of cracks. This, however has not affected the functionality of the phone at all, minus a few dead pixels here and there and just looking a little "off" from the tiny... 5/5 Shelley b. - See all my reviews This review is from: HTC Inspire 4G Android Phone, Red (AT&T) (Wireless Phone Accessory) This is a great HTC product. Fast. Complicated. Eats megabytes for breakfast.

I've checked out what other reviewers have had to say about this phone, and find myself in agreement with most of them. The phone is amazing. Here's what else you need to know:a) data planb) appsc) user manualData Plan: you will need a separate data plan for the phone. My wife has an iPhone 3G, with an unlimited data plan from AT&T. But that phone doesn't use the 4G LTE network. AT&T is slowing building out its 4G LTE network, and it may not be available in your area. You have to buy a plan whether or not you currently have 4G LTE coverage. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that 4G LTE was available in my area, even though the official AT&T coverage map didn't include it.I bought a 200 megabyte per month plan. It seemed like a lot of bytes. Then I started using my phone. Trulia has a great app that lets you find the houses for sale in whatever neighborhood you find yourself in. Great Phone

This is a great phone, I have owned it for 3 days now and i really like it. The build quality is great, even though it is plastic. The phone itself looks beautiful and feels great, the weight is also good it doesn't feel to light or to heavy. The screen is one of the best ive seen on any phone. Everything cant be perfect though.I am not in a lte market so i cant comment on that aspect. As far as the phone goes you do have to keep a couple of things in mind. The phone has a 4.5 inch screen, although this sounds great it has some obvious draw backs. With the screen being so big one of the draw backs is size. It is not a comfortable phone to carry around and putting it in you're pocket as well as pulling it out can be awkward. I wear slim jeans and this has become an annoyance. When you talk on it you notice the size, it feels like holding a scientific calculator to you're ear.The second draw back is once again the screen size. This being 4.5 inches it takes up... 4/5 Eliseo Roman (Hawthorne, Ca) - See all my reviews, November 11, 2011

    Review for Samsung Skyrocket

I will start with the bad things first:Price: I initially bought it from Amazon wireless and they said it won't be delivered until December, so I canceled my order and went with ATT premier store and paid full price on the phone. It is like 70 dollars more.Battery: I took it off the charger at 9am today, right now it is almost 2pm and I am at 63%, I did used Google Navigation (while charging in the car). And mostly light browsing, power saving mode seems to help a lot, with 60 percent it can last me till the end of the day with almost 5% left. (Tested that yesterday) So battery life is not great but given it is an LTE phone with 4.5 inch screen, I would say this is 50/50.Accessories: Lack of accessories for now, you might want to get a good case for this considering it is a very delicate and expensive phone, you don't want to test the durability yourself. And no HD screen. & ATT customer service, ATT wouldn't give me the unlock code even... 4/5 Tech Gadget geek "gadget testing geek" (Chicago, IL USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket 4G Android Phone, Black (AT&T) (Wireless Phone) I will start with the bad things first:Price: I initially bought it from Amazon wireless and they said it won't be delivered until December, so I canceled my order and went with ATT premier store and paid full price on the phone. Great Hardware; So so software

Mine came in Saturday the 18th so only one day later than promised. I'm OK with that. Spent the day playing around with it. I lead an enterprise mobility team and lab for a Fortune 500 company and have access to a lot of the bleeding edge technology coming from vendors these days (except Apple who doesn't share much).I have to say this thing is excellent. It is big. It fits in one hand for me but being a musician I'm used to stretching my fingers and such so it was no biggie for me. I could see how someone with smaller hands might have trouble using it one handed. Even with my finger stretch I was worried about holding it just in one hand.I live in an area where AT&T is just now rolling LTE and it isn't anywhere near me but I was getting close to 8Mb down and 1.5 Mb up yesterday in a few areas. The notification bar showed 4G but not 4GLTE so I'm assuming it is HSPA+. (???)GPS is fantastic. Works like a charm. No problems with Wi-Fi at all and getting great... 4/5 Vince Arter Jr. (St. Louis, MO, USA) - See all my reviews, February 19, 2012

It's pretty in white, beautiful screen and awesome battery

DesignIt's a big phone for but if there's one thing you should be aware of, it's the back. The back can be slippery, I don't recommend letting people who aren't careful hold it or pick it up. My phone has already been dropped, on the back from a short distance to the ground. The actual design of the phone is in my opinion is A+. The phone is pretty slim for such a big battery and screen size. The only physical button, the Power button is located on the right side. It's pretty much a giant Samsung Skyrocket with a stylus. It feels great in my hand(s) and I have normal sized hands. My personal preference for color is white.PerformanceI played with it for a few hours and screen is pretty responsive. I watched a netflix movies and 1080p films over wifi, which were beautiful. The processor seems to move just as fast the one in the skyrocket. There's no lag and handles everything well. South Florida should get 4g next month but HspA+ is enough... 5/5 R. Parker (Florida) - See all my reviews, February 26, 2012

    Simply amazing

This will be a quick review for me. If you know the size of this device and pick one up I don't think you'll be disappointed. It's fast. Real fast. The screen is the highest resolution of any current Smartphone and the extra screen real estate takes advantage of it. Video playback (many codecs supported) is amazing. Web browsing is fantastic and very fast on LTE in my area. Camera is basically the same as the GS2 and that's alright by me as it's an excellent camera.S Pen is very cool and works very well. The review regarding the plan pricing should be tossed as it has zero to do with the actual device. People like that just skew the average ratings for no reason. I went from an iPhone 4s to the Note and I'm not going back.I also picked up the Samsung OEM folio style case that replaces the back battery cover and it's pretty sweet. 5/5 Waltah - See all my reviews This review is from: Samsung Galaxy Note 4G Android Phone, Carbon Blue (AT&T) (Wireless Phone) This will be a quick review for me.
