    Great Platform, Stretched Hardware

I purchased this phone about a year ago and was initially ecstatic about the device's features as well as the intuitiveness of the Android platform itself. However, at the release of this device the Android platform was still growing and functioned in a much less advanced capacity than it currently does. Through several updates of core firmware, as well as various software updates to apps, the phone has become sluggish and often unresponsive.Long story short, the hardware hasn't kept up with the every-growing demands on the software front. The Android Marketplace offers a great breadth of content that is simply impractical to run on this outdated hardware. If you're looking to have a phone that keeps up with current technological trends, think twice before investing in this sucker. Also, battery life tends to become absolutely abysmal after the first 6-8 months or so, so definitely think about investing in some backup batteries. 3/5 Mike C. - See all my reviews This review is from: Verizon Motorola Droid A855 Android Cell Phone (no contract) (Wireless Phone Accessory) I purchased this phone about a year ago and was initially ecstatic about the device's features as well as the intuitiveness of the Android platform itself. Great Phone!

I've had this phone for a while now and it is FANTASTIC!I upgraded to it from a blackberry storm thinking it wouldn't be that different from one smart phone to another, but boy was I wrong!I love my Droid; there are SO many more wonderful apps available for it and it I love that it syncs everything with my gmail.I am NOT very good with phones (tend to beat up on them a lot) but I have NEVER had any problems with this one breaking or anything. 5/5 C. Has been the most dependable Android phone I've used

In a small office, we've used the Droid X, HTC Rhyme and Thunderbolt (which has a terrible battery) but surprisingly enough, the Incredible has been the most reliable performer !The phone has been fast, the screen has been sharp since we've had it, the battery has been great too! I'm kinda surprised that the manufacturers didn't stick with these internal components. 5/5 Clyde - See all my reviews This review is from: HTC DROID INCREDIBLE Android Phone Black (Verizon Wireless) (Wireless Phone Accessory) In a small office, we've used the Droid X, HTC Rhyme and Thunderbolt (which has a terrible battery) but surprisingly enough, the Incredible has been the most reliable performer !The phone has been fast, the screen has been sharp since we've had it, the battery has been great too! Not so incredible.

When I received the phone I thought it was in good shape, but I have immense difficulty when it comes to calls. I can't hear people and they can't hear me. Half the time the conversation is, "Can you hear me now?"I won't even get started with the battery. Go ahead, turn off the Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and turn off syncing. Download a battery saver. Download a task manager. It doesn't matter, at the end of the day this phone will be dead. 2/5 Ixaphia - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) A sturdy 3G smartphone still running strong after 21 months

I pre-ordered this phone and got it the day it came out in April 2010. Since day one it has been a reliable phone that gets strong signal here in Phoenix. 21 months later I upgraded to a new dual-core, 4G phone only because I got the upgrade for free. I was more than ready to stay with my Incredible for even longer. The phone wasn't perfect and there were 2 clear downs to it. The first being the brightness of the screen. It was not very useful outside. This was common in all of the 1st generation AMOLED screens. Second, 3.7" is the absolute minimum screen size for a usable phone. The phone I switched to is 4.3" and there is a noticible difference. That said, the phone never gave me trouble. It could play all early generation games, was great on WiFi and 3G alike, and came with a sturdy Sense skin from HTC that I loved. On the extended battery I got an easy 18 hours of battery life, which was more than enough. For someone looking for a way to make a cheap entry... 4/5 B. Wireless Circle sucks.

The seller sent me a phone (htc droid eris) that worked for only three hours before it completely shut off. I thought it was a battery issure so I went to my local verizon to see if it was an issue they can solve. They told me the phone I was sold was completely a dud and that not only did it not work there was nothing they can do about it to fix it. They demanded that I speak to the seller and get my money back. Overall it was a horrible experience and I will never purchase a phone through amazon's wirelesscirle. 1/5 Denise, New York. - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) the phone is well built.....milspec android if you wanna call it that....the internet is easy to navigate and the motoblur is rather handy for people with accounts on virtually everything facebook myspace yahoo etc.......i have never had a problem with the system on the phone nor with it randomly cutting off i have the otter box on it and the phone to be truthful is bulky with the case but other than that i have no complaints....i use this phone excessively and bout 8 to 10 hours through work it still has half battery by the end of the day if you dont run useless crap all the time then the phone will not die and the 3g is actually functioning unlike alot of verizons phones but all in all its worth the buy even after seeing the price on amazon...(which is much less than what i paid) i wouldnt consider it a waste of money android worth the money by far 4/5 Kevin Owens "kevin" (USA) - See all my reviews, March 27, 2011

    OS Seems Unstable

This isn't a bad phone. I like the fact that it has the little touch pad as well as a slide out keyboard. These features, I think, give it an edge over my friends who have Droid X phones. It makes it easier to type as well as navigate around the screen without accidentally clicking on things.Things I don't like so much:I have had to do a factory reset on my phone about 5 times now... and I've had it since July (7 months). Every once in a while, all of the applications that aren't preinstalled will force close like crazy and you have to uninstall and reinstall all of them... Or I'll notice that my lock feature and home button refuse to work. Because of the design of the phone, I get stuck on screens if I cannot hit "Home." Also, the only way around this and the lock issue is to download apps which override the phone's lock and home features. Then the buttons magically start to work again, but this usually triggers all of my apps to suddenly corrupt and... 3/5 Heather - See all my reviews This review is from: MOTOROLA DEVOUR A555 8GB GOOGLE ANDROID 3G SILVER CDMA VERIZON TOUCHSCREEN (Wireless Phone) This isn't a bad phone. Great phone, but like any other slows down with use.

I have had this phone for going on a year now. I would say it is a great phone for anyone who would like an android phone, but would not plan to overuse its features (lots of apps, running widgets 24/7, etc....). Becoming more android savvy, I am replacing mine with something with more oomph. I have been disappointed in how little android saves to the memory card and instead to the phone itself.Camera: It takes wonderful pictures....in good sunlight. But as does any cell phone camera. The videos are ok, and you can save a send-able file or one however long you like.Battery: The battery lasted apprx. 10-12 hours a day on average use, 6-8hrs on heavy use, and probably would've lasted about 2 days on light use (only for phonecalls).android version: This phone currently does not run froyo but it does run android 2.1, which works fine.My phone became slow mostly because of the games and widgets I wanted to use. So if you are a light... 4/5 C. Kanzenbach (Minneapolis, MN) - See all my reviews, February 21, 2011

After 1.5 years, this phone is SLOW

Five more months and I can get a new phone...I can't wait! At first, this phone ran fine. After about a year, it slowed down to a snail's pace. I'm not a heavy phone user and I only have a few apps. I don't use VZ navigate because the phone crashes before I can even type in my destination. The touch screen is a bit off and I've calibrated it recently - can't touch the letters/numbers I really want or else the letter/number next to it will appear on the screen. This makes for some painfully slow text messaging and with autocorrect on, I've sent a ton of messages with random words inserted. My favorite contacts screen seems to shuffle my contacts around periodically so I'm always calling the wrong person. This happens so often that it has become a running joke amongst my friends. Overall, I would not buy this phone again and I definitely would not recommend it to a friend...an enemy? perhaps. 2/5 Lisa D - See all my reviews This review is from: HTC Droid Eris for Verizon Wireless (Black) CDMA Smartphone Android (Wireless Phone Accessory) Five more months and I can get a new phone...I can't wait! Love it more than the iPhone

I've owned my Droid X since it came out, and I simply love it. I can't imagine having a different phone. I feel it surpasses the iPhone in a few ways. For one, it has a bigger and sharper screen. If you're planning to play games, watch movies or shows, this is the phone for you. It might not seem like it's "that much" bigger, but it is and it makes a difference. The screen is sharp enough that I watch Netflix and HBO shows on my phone all the time (did I mention the WiFi is strong enough on the phone for this to be possible?). Also, a lot of people think they simply must have their music on their iPods. Once I got this phone, I sold my old iTouch. Are iPods better at handling music then the Droid X? Yes. But is it a significant upgrade? No, not at all. The music quality is the exact same, so the only difference is the interface. It's very easy to get the music from your computer onto the phone as well, simply a drag and drop process. Best decision I ever made

I purchased this phone 14 months ago, and still feel it was the best decision I could have made. I absolutely love the camera. The 8 megapixels means that I have clear, high quality pictures that I can use for digital scrapbooking, printing, and sharing with friends and family. I love that my video and still camera is always at my fingertips. In addition, I use this phone for hours every day to check email, text, play games, wake up in the morning, play music, listen to digital books, and find out how to get where I'm going. Oh, and sometimes I even make calls with it! It's pretty great for that too! I also like that the touch screen keyboard has good sized buttons. I rarely have typos, but have been known to have some auto-correct fails from time to time. The only thing I don't like about this phone is that I have to have two sets of music libraries, one on Amazon, and one on ITunes. Ah well, nothing is perfect. 5/5 PSSinPHX (Phoenix, AZ) - See all my reviews This review is from: Motorola DROID X Android Verizon Cell Phone (Wireless Phone Accessory) I purchased this phone 14 months ago, and still feel it was the best decision I could have made. Pretty decent android phone

I purchased the Droid X about 8 months ago to replace my old chocolate II. Overall I have been pretty happy with the phone. The sound quality and reception is not as good as my old phone, but is not bad. The phone has plenty of memory for apps and runs the well with occasional freezing or force closes. Sometimes the freezing seems random. There are a ton of great apps and games that are free. The phone comes with some useful apps, but does have some useless bloat ware that you cannot remove.Phone is easy to operate. The only thing negative that I have to say would be the sound volume and camera. The sound volume is not very loud and the speaker is not very clear. This isn't an issue with games, but not very convenient for listening to music or ringtones. Since ringtones are not loud, it can be tough to hear phone ring if there is any ambient noise around. My only other complaint is the camera is slow to open when trying to take quick pics and when leaving the settings on... 4/5 Paul "online shopper" (Baltimore, Maryland) - See all my reviews This review is from: Motorola Droid X for Verizon Phone - No Contract Required (Wireless Phone Accessory) I purchased the Droid X about 8 months ago to replace my old chocolate II. One of the best Android phones ever owned

This is my 4th android phone I've owned, previously I had the continuum, fascinate and droid incredible. By far the droid x stands in line next to the fascinate for my taste.I loved the UI on the fascinate is was fast, clean, easy and the super amoled mad it better. I was a bit worried the high resolution on the droid x would not look as great as the super amoled, but when i received this phone it turned out to be a decent display! A lot better then the incredible for sure the display on it is horrible outside and looks grainy.I really like how this phone feels in my hands as well, feels very sturdy and heavy which is what i like. A lot of android phones I've handled feel so cheap and plastic. The camera on this phone is awesome and the pictures and videos come out crisp and clear with the 8mpxl camera. the UI of the camera app is not my favorite but it gets the job done. I prefer the Samsung camera on the fascinate it was easy and fast to use. However i am still getting used the... 4/5 Oliver - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Great phone. Hardware home keys concerns.

Had the phone for over a year now. Everyone said it was too big at 4.3 inches. But now large seems to be more beautiful. My concern is with the physical home keys. The menu, home, back and search keys are all physical. They are going to wear out before my contract is up. Better to get sofware home keys in my opinion. The phone has hardly ever failed to install and run well the new apps in the market. Thus it is plenty powerful to keep up with the more demanding apps coming out for newer devices. For instance, Jan2012 I installed the new Monoply game from the market. There were many cautionary tales in the app comments about the game needing a powerful phone, etc.. But the DroidX came through and rendered the game very well. It compared favorably to the install and game operation on my new Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.I recommend the phone. Just be easy on button use. Battery. Ahhh. Dont expect miracles. Normal use shoud be fine. I purchased extra 2 batteries... 5/5 James Anderson (San Diego, CA United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: Motorola Droid X for Verizon Phone - No Contract Required (Wireless Phone Accessory) Had the phone for over a year now. Love it more than my iphone

Just love how fast and smooth this runs, I enjoyed my iphone 4s, but this is a better phone. The widgets and apps make it much more customizable than the iphone (for example, I love my swiftkey keyboard app; there is no way to use anything but the stock keyboard on the iphone). There are some apps that were better on the iphone, but the Droid has these and they are still useful. Glad I made the switch back to Android! 5/5 DU Ute - See all my reviews This review is from: Motorola DROID BIONIC 4G Android Phone, 16GB (Verizon Wireless) (Wireless Phone) Just love how fast and smooth this runs, I enjoyed my iphone 4s, but this is a better phone. 16 GB Bionic--Thunderbolt review

First I will start with the Droid Bionic 16GB. When I received the mobile at first I wasn't sure how I felt about the flimsy-er back cover and kind of hap-hazard installation area for the SIM card. But lets not make opinions without running the device, right? So after charging it fully and then powering it on first thing I notice is how quick it is, even for a 2.3 (we have a 3.0 (honeycomb) Toshiba Thrive tablet). After that I wanted to see the bloatware, which for the most part was not bad. There is a golf game that is pre-installed and the largest file, I think you can remove it but I haven't tried since it's kinda fun; when you are super board and want to play a i-don't-give-a-shite game. Some info: after all the preinstalled stuff from Verizon including Blockbuster and all the apps I installed (Facebook, Netflix, Google +, Lookout Mobile Lite, a better clock(must have), a better alarm (again must have), some live wallpapers, and a few other smaller miscalleaneous apps... 5/5 Z. beta product

I am a long time Motorola customer. I am sure I will buy Motorola in the future but this product line has me wondering. It is fast, feature rich, and accessory rich. But very buggy and frustrating. The handset it's self feels quality but the accessories slip in quality from the Droid x. They expanded the accessory line but they all feel cheaper and are not as stable (lots of force closes, lost pictures, spontaneous reboots etc.) The updates to the OS has helped allot but the Bionic is still a disappointment. I bought mine from Verizon along with the car dock, protection pack (that doesn't work with the device docks very good), Web top adaptor, multimedia dock. I am less than satisfied with every item in the line up. 3/5 Joseph Harer (Florida, USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Motorola DROID BIONIC 4G Android Phone, 16GB (Verizon Wireless) (Wireless Phone) I am a long time Motorola customer. Awesome AMOLED Screen, but here's the rest of the story...

Note: I am work from home, don't leave home a lot, and seldom use my smart phone for more than calls.First off the good:I love love loved the phone! The uber sexy AMOLED screen is awesome to say the least. I love the quality photos, the macro on the camera is awesome! The video quality is really impressive! Sound quality excellent! Signal reception WOW! Out at our lake property, where most phones struggle for a signal if they even get one... the signal reception was outstanding! I loved everything about this phone! The phone is really easy for a newbie to the world of smart phones to learn. I would give the phone 5+ stars for the AMOLED screen! Also, the phone is wifi capable, meaning when we traveled to Aruba, I could sit in cafe that offered free internet and sign on to send emails, Facebook or use Skype etc. Loved having the phone! It also took excellent pics even in low light... as well as wonderful hd video! Here's the rest of the... 2/5 Jerusha Chenoweth "Oh That Jeri" (Rochester, NY) - See all my reviews This review is from: Samsung Fascinate No Contract Cell Phone 3G Android Smartphone Verizon (Wireless Phone Accessory) Note: I am work from home, don't leave home a lot, and seldom use my smart phone for more than calls.First off the good:I love love loved the phone! good hardware, very very iffy software(blame verizon/bing/microsoft)

pro's1. omg omg omg the screen is so pretty (really you have to see for your self, this phone is the i-500. the i-510(samsung DROID CHARGEEEEEE is this phone + 4g) can be found in most verizon stores)2. hummingbird processor is "20% faster", but the important part is that the gpu(graphics card) is leapyears beyond any other phone at this price point.3. thanks to #2, if this phone is virtually unbrickable( in other words, there is nothing you can do to this phone software wise that breaks it for good)4. It runs on verizon and thanks to page plus, you can buy a used(check if its stolen or blacklisted first though) fasinate and activate it on prepaid page plus service(its a verizon reseller)5.Con's1. BING!2. also did i mention bing? also vz navagator, skype mobile(not to be confused with the other skype) and a bunch of other crapware.3. battery life. i worked a 12 hour shift this semester and this is the only phone that needs to be... 4/5 Jiahui Shi "You have just read a review from ... Don't Bother

This is the most frustrating cell phone I have ever owned. I take much of the blame for purchasing a phone after having done zero research, but we were upgrading my husband to the Droid X and if we upgraded me the same day this phone was free (after mail-in rebate Visa gift cards yada yada yada)...I had to wait about 7 moths for the Android 2.2 update. Then all updates after that I can download about 3-4 months after they go live for all other droid phones. That is due to poor support on the Samsung side of things, so I don't blame Verizon, just the manufacturer. I will never purchase another Samsung phone. For the last year I have had to pop of the back and battery to reboot about 3-4 times per week. This phone just doesn't handle updates well, and since the most recent Android system update, I can no longer use Google Maps Navigation. I can view maps and see my progress on the map with GPS on, but I cannot use turn-by-turn directions as this phone... 2/5 Lauren Kruse (Tacoma, WA) - See all my reviews, March 10, 2012

    It's an "Average" Phone

I've had this phone for about a year now. I got it for free with a 2 year contract with Verizon. I guess I can't say much about a free Android phone, but still, this phone has its faults.First off, the phone has a pretty good design. It's not too flashy, but still has a nice and slim design. I like the fact it has physical navigation buttons rather than the touch navigation buttons, that are on most other Android Phones. The sound quality is also good. The sound quality is loud, clear, and crisp. The Speaker Phone is also very clear and loud. Plus it's backed up by Verizon's network so you shouldn't have much problem with it. This phone is also pretty durable. I've never bought a case for it and I've dropped it around a few times on some hard surfaces. The phone still looks and works great. The back battery cover and the screen is not prone to any scratches. Now for the many faults of this phone.
