    Great Platform, Stretched Hardware

I purchased this phone about a year ago and was initially ecstatic about the device's features as well as the intuitiveness of the Android platform itself. However, at the release of this device the Android platform was still growing and functioned in a much less advanced capacity than it currently does. Through several updates of core firmware, as well as various software updates to apps, the phone has become sluggish and often unresponsive.Long story short, the hardware hasn't kept up with the every-growing demands on the software front. The Android Marketplace offers a great breadth of content that is simply impractical to run on this outdated hardware. If you're looking to have a phone that keeps up with current technological trends, think twice before investing in this sucker. Also, battery life tends to become absolutely abysmal after the first 6-8 months or so, so definitely think about investing in some backup batteries. 3/5 Mike C. - See all my reviews This review is from: Verizon Motorola Droid A855 Android Cell Phone (no contract) (Wireless Phone Accessory) I purchased this phone about a year ago and was initially ecstatic about the device's features as well as the intuitiveness of the Android platform itself. Great Phone!

I've had this phone for a while now and it is FANTASTIC!I upgraded to it from a blackberry storm thinking it wouldn't be that different from one smart phone to another, but boy was I wrong!I love my Droid; there are SO many more wonderful apps available for it and it I love that it syncs everything with my gmail.I am NOT very good with phones (tend to beat up on them a lot) but I have NEVER had any problems with this one breaking or anything. 5/5 C. Who Needs an iPhone?

Wooow! I need to catch my breath...Let me begin by saying I'm an economist. Logos do not impress me. Excellent price/performance ratios impress me. Although I must admit, the Exhibit II is a fairly beautiful phone in real life; don't let the photos scare you. This powerful yet humble device has the same memory (512MB RAM) and CPU speed (1GHz) as the iPhone 4. And, dare I say, it actually makes phone calls. It even has a larger screen than the latest $700+ iPhone 4S. Still with me?Why I bought this phone (with a new prepaid plan):>1. Freedom: With T-Mobile's prepaid plans, you can start or stop your service anytime without any fines. You can switch carriers, sell your phone, and walk away without even saying goodbye.>2. Screen: The 3.7" screen is bigger than the one on the iPhone 4S. The 800x480 resolution makes for a relatively high pixel density (252 ppi) and looks fantastic.>3. Android has developed into a very... 5/5 B. D. Soufi (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews, November 8, 2011

Works amazingly well with CyanogenMod 9!

UPDATE 5/12/12: I've made a thread for people to vote for Anker Power to make an extended battery for this phone. Search for "exhibit ii anker" on the xda-developers forum, if we can get enough votes we might be seeing a ~2000mAh battery from Anker Power!UPDATE 4/30/12: It's been about 5 months since I got this phone, and still it is running like a champ! No problems with it so far, and it runs great with CyanogenMod 9 (free of T-Mobile bloatwares). If you want a custom ROM but need to use the camera, go with another Gingerbread ROM such as XquiziT and RebelROM. Find everything you need on the xda-developers forum.UPDATE 3/28/12: I uploaded a video onto YouTube demonstrating CyanogenMod 9 running on this phone. Go to YouTube and search for "Exhibit II CM9" for the video, it should be the first one.UPDATE 3/7/12: CyanogenMod 9 beta has been released! Awesome phone at this price and great plans

I have been researching pre paid phones and plans for a while now and this phone with the pre paid plans T-mobile has is a great deal. The phone is really nice for a $200 buyout phone. It has great sound quality (both earpiece and speakerphone). I am coming from the original Droid on Verizon. The camera on the phone is very decent. Certainly as good as the 5mp on the Droid and faster too. I like T mobiles wi-fi calling from home..it allows me to run on my own wifi system if T-Mobiles signal is weak indoors. Video chat using Gtalk works very well. The phone comes with Kies Air for wireless transfers from your laptop and Yelp (for finding all those nice places to do business with). The GPS system works very well and the web is super fast on T-Mobiles great 4G (and I get it almost everywhere even in places my friends do NOT get Wimax on Sprint. The phone is very light and smaller in size than the Droid (but with same screen size). It has a textured back for better grip. The battery... 5/5 Chris Baker "cb2000a" (Hawaii) - See all my reviews, November 3, 2011

    Hero H2000

This is a great phone. Most people would get this because of the dual-sim capability, like the other guy, but I got this because of it's Android operating system. Compared to an actual HTC phone, my G1, the H2000 performs a lot better, especially in performance. So I would consider this an upgrade. So when you first get the package, it'll come in a nice box that says Hero on the top, and H2000 on the bottom. Inside, you'll find the phone itself, 2 batteries, a usb cable(looks like an iphone cable, but I heard they are slightly different) , 1 pair of headphones, a usb charging adapter, the user manual, and a screen protector, which is really nice. So now, I am going into a full review haha. Hope you have time to read this (:Out of the box, you'll notice the design of the phone. It resembles an iPhone 4, it even has the actual home button. But take a closer look and you'll notice that there is a Back, Menu, Home, and Search Touch Pad like buttons like on one of those HTC... 5/5 Sofia Youk "Sofia's Son" - See all my reviews, July 20, 2011

    NR H2000

Bought it for dual sim capability and it works great - plugged both sims in and recognized in short order -- nice to be back to carrying one phone! All US carriers will tell you there is no such thing as a dual sim phone -- yeah right. Both sims work on quad band so either should work just about anywhere in the world. When you make call it will give you a choice of which sim to use and when you receive a call it lets you know which SIM is receiving.Touch screen great and responds very well to commands. Navigating through pages is easy (this is my first smart phone deal and I am able to pick it up easy). Instruction book a bit thin on instructions so just fooling around with the phone top learn it is really best alternative. Some intstructions on the phone still in Chinese so I need to change this -- found something on line to help.It does have GPS and seems pretty cool although I have the data feature turned off -- don't want to pay for a data plan.WIFI is... 5/5 NR H200 Review - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Mediocre

Pros: 2 sim cards works just fine and simultaneously, Android 2,2 is a great softwear.Against: Poor battery life (2-3hs when fully functioning!!), certain menus in Chinese (may be a problem if you are not familiar with android), take ages to turn on, there is no screen calibration tool and it will often misinterpret dialing, low definition camera (won't read barcodes, for example), won't run skype, comes with headset of bad quality and performance. Also, GPS simply do not work without data transmission assistance. 2/5 Pedro Ming (SAN FRANCISCO, CA, US) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This is a great product. It is small, yet has a larger screen then expected. It has Motorola's imfamous Motoblur, which, may I say, is awesome, and it arrived so fast that Amazon said it hadn't even been shipped yet. Seriously. That happened. Lol! Battery life is great, and experiencing this phone is quite frankly amazing. It includes access to the Android Market, which has thousands of great apps (not redundant ones like Apple's Appstore has, with repeats of the same thing over and over, which is the reason they have millions of apps), and it has a brilliant screen even though the resolution isn't HD like Apple iPhone's "Retina" display. The three touch-sensitive buttons at the lower front of the phone are completely responsive, and it has a great 5MP camera for the average user. It also films digital video for those greater moments in life, and it has a great browser. This phone is upgradable to Google's Android 2.1 OS, which allows you other great new features. Do your research before purchasing!!!!

I have had the Motorola BackFlip for about 2 years. I would love to purchase a new phone however funds are limited. The phone worked well for about 3 months. It shuts off whenever it wants and it freezes all the time. Force close messages all the time. My advice to anyone looking into purchasing a backflip is to do research. The update for it does not work. You can not use alot of applications because of that. I can say one good thing about the phone is it is durable. Mine still looks like it just came out of the box. Other than that I have nothing good to say about this phone. The touch screen works when it feels like it. I can only make calls when the phone cooperates. And if you have too many apps like more than 5 it slows the phone down tremendously. Do your research before purchasing. 1/5 Dina M. Pavia (Dingmans Ferry, PA) - See all my reviews, January 6, 2012

Not even usable as trash can fodder

Received the phone as promised. Thats the only good thing I can say for the phone. Phone is set up for AT&T. I use T-Mobile. All the pre loaded applications were for AT&T so none worked for me. I couldn't delete any of the app's and I couldn't download any. The contacts list woluld only show a history, not my contacts which I tried to load. Occasionally the contact list would pop-in. I never figured out what I did to reteive it, it just appeared magically when it wanted. The only things I could do with the phone was to send and receive phone calls. I paid $147.00 dollars for somewhat of a smartphone that would only do what my five year old basic cell phone already does. I'm sending it back to Amazon, thankfully they are only going to charge me $6.00 to take it back. The only accessory in the box was the AC adapter and a owners book which is totally worthless. Don't waste your time and patience with this phone. I'm going to a T-Mobile store and get a real phone. 1/5 John K. - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) nice hardware, shame about Sony Ericsson

This is nice hardware. It works well with AT&T in the USA. There's no Android upgrade for it. Sony Ericsson (SE) put out a press release in October say upgrades to Android 2.1 had started. The phone is nice, shick and stylish. it is very small, which is good in part since you won't feel its existence when you're not using it, but this would probably be bothering when you need to use it.The battery works for 1 day maximum (without turning the GPS on, nor wi-fi) which is very troubling. 3/5 Aly - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) A nice phone, good battery life, snappy and perfect size.

I previously had an iPhone 3G, I loved that phone but it broke and I wasn't ready to sign a new contract so I moved to Virgin Mobiles Optimus V. I liked that phone as it was my first step into the android world. I then bought (and returned) a Motorola Triumph which was supposed to be a good phone but it failed. I then finally decided to step up to the Galaxy S2 and while it's only been a few days I'm very pleased.Battery life:I started my day out yesterday around 5:30 am, as I drove to work I had a video podcast playing on the phone and that ran for around 30 minutes during my commute. I got to work and then started playing a little with the phone but mainly using it for web browsing and listening to Audio the remainder of the day. I did play some words with friends, downloaded a few new apps from the market and showed off the phone and by 1:30 pm I was at 60% battery life. Not bad to only use 40% in 8 hours. At that rate it's approx 5% battery per hour which tells... 4/5 J. Haggard (Nashville, TN) - See all my reviews, October 12, 2011

Galaxy S II versus iPhone 4S? Can't go wrong with either

After being an iPhone / iOS user for a year and a half and as an Android / Atrix user for only 6 months (thankfully without a contract extension), I used that saved upgrade subsidy on getting a SGS2. After following the rave reviews overseas about it, and after enjoying the developer friendly Android OS, I figured this would be the phone I would use for the next few years. Overall, it is an absolute gem of a phone that has little nuances here and there. When compared to an Atrix 4G, it's absolutely night and day. All the hype over Samsung's AMOLED Plus screen is no joke. The colors are absolutely brilliant in comparison to Motorola's Pentile display. Moving about the screen is silky smooth, with no lag at all. Going back to the Atrix, you can tell the motion from screen to screen just isn't as sweeping. The camera differences are amazing different, both in pictures and in video. Color in the pictures taken by the SGS2 is just much crisper and deeper, especially with black... 5/5 Esc. - See all my reviews This review is from: Samsung Galaxy S II 4G Android Phone (AT&T) (Wireless Phone) After being an iPhone / iOS user for a year and a half and as an Android / Atrix user for only 6 months (thankfully without a contract extension), I used that saved upgrade subsidy on getting a SGS2. Near perfect phone

My first foray into the smartphone world has my friends extremely jealous. I have played around with other people's smartphones for years, and never saw one as close to perfect as this one is. Great battery life, beautiful screen, wickedly fast processor (has set a record in quadrant benchmark), decent reception and call quality, and a strong gps that locks on my indoor location even in windowless rooms without the assistance of wireless networks! About the only thing that is missing is an LED notification light, but that is easily remedied with the Marketplace App "NoLED," which does the trick nicely. I have also used the very buggy Epic 4G Touch on Sprint, and the form factor on this phone is superb -- not too big and classically simple aesthetics. 5/5 John Winters - See all my reviews This review is from: Samsung Galaxy S II 4G Android Phone (AT&T) (Wireless Phone) My first foray into the smartphone world has my friends extremely jealous. Better than the iPhone 4 ?

I don't write many reviews for products that I buy, but this product deserves some recognition. In a few words: It is amazing. I love many things about this phone that I may have to list the pros and cons...I think I will actually do just that:ProsLarge screenThe screen, measured diagonally, is about 4.3". This is very large. If you are used to a smaller screen like on the iPhone, get ready for some adaptation to this phone. The screen's size makes it easier to see things like text, pictures, etc. The only bad thing about this screen is that when you compare it to the iPhone 4, you can tell that the Inspire does not have a "Retina Display" as Apple calls it. In other words, you can more easily see pixels displayed on the Inspire than you can on the iPhone 4. Although, don't get me wrong. The Inspire's screen is very nice and sharp with good brightness settings overall, it just isn't as sharp as the iPhone 4's screen. Also, the outer screen... 5/5 Brad Setzer "Brad" (NC, United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: HTC Inspire 4G Android Phone, Black (AT&T) (Wireless Phone) I don't write many reviews for products that I buy, but this product deserves some recognition. Powerful phone, good price

2 weeks into use, I've got to say I'm very satisfied. This is a powerful phone for only $50-$100 at various retailers. What's nice:- Solid, high quality feel (and I actually like the fact that it has some weight).- Beautiful U.I. with the most recent HTC Sense update.- Maps is pre-cached, helps with navigation and in areas with bad reception (welcome to at&t!).- Great hardware, I have not had any issues with lag or freezing. Pulse is the only app I've had to force-quit (twice). My advice to get the most out of this device:- Upgrade your data plan to $25/month for 2GB. I went through 140MB on the first day (downloading apps, customizing, and setting up the device).- If you are having difficulty opening the battery door, get your fingernail right underneath the edge of the battery cover near the bottom of the volume rocker and pull away from device like you are trying to break it off (It pops-off rather than slide-off like the... 5/5 Alexson Lim (San Luis Obispo, CA) - See all my reviews, March 4, 2011

    First android phone- Love it!

Android:I am blown away by the all the different apps and features of the android in general. I have not felt this shocked by a electronic device since I used the internet for the first time in 1995. It is not as idiot proof as apple's operating system though. I find myself spending quite a bit of time getting used to where all the settings are located for various programs- there are just so many options for everything. This is fine for me since I consider myself relatively tech savvy, but for some users, this may be overwhelming. Although I love this phone, I am recommending my 50+ year old parents to buy the iphone because I think the iOS operating system is much easier to use.As for this phone:It is my first android phone and I really love this phone, but it has some areas with rooms for improvement. HTC did include all the features one could want in a phone.-Battery life is shorter than I would like in a phone- I charge it everyday. My ipad on... 4/5 F. Awesome (and inexpensive) phone and plan(s)

I had to abandon my ATT family plan in favor of letting my youngest daughter get on it and enjoy the free family minutes and unlimited texting, etc., which I don't use so much (already had 5 lines and they won't let me add another one). So, I was looking for the cheapest alternative to getting a 6th line, at least comparable to what I would have paid for the 6th line on ATT. I looked all over and all the individual plans where $40+ or so, without including texting. Then I came across the Virgin Mobile $25 unlimited data, text, web + 300 minutes and it seemed that it would fit the bill.I got the phone on sale for $105 and it is just the best phone I have ever had, although I have not activated it yet (more on this later), at an awesome price. Why haven't I activated it yet? Well, it turns out, this android phone lets you install all kind of apps from the android market via wifi without activating the phone, you can pop in an 8Gb, 16Gb or 32Gb SDHC card and use this as a... 5/5 ajpd "ajpd" (Houston, TX United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: LG Optimus Prepaid Android Phone (Virgin Mobile) (Wireless Phone Accessory) I had to abandon my ATT family plan in favor of letting my youngest daughter get on it and enjoy the free family minutes and unlimited texting, etc., which I don't use so much (already had 5 lines and they won't let me add another one). Amazing phone with cheap, solid, feature-rich service

After being a T-Mobile customer for 8 years I finally dumped them when I found the phone and plan I'd been waiting for: the Android 2.2, LG Optimus V with the Beyond Talk plan. The Phone:An Android 2.2 operating system powers the LG Optimus V (V stands for Virgin... the S is Sprint's phone, but both share the Sprint mobile network) and allows for zippy web surfing via the 3G network. Apps open quickly and transitions from one thing to another are smooth. The processor seems up to multitasking and I had no problem downloading apps and emailing at the same time. The body of the phone is comfortable to hold with a slightly rubberized feel, and the screen is bright and clear. I did note the back cover of the phone is a tad flimsy, so be careful pulling it off and on to put in the battery. Bear in mind I'm used to a Nokia E71 phone, which has a metal back, so that may just be something that bothered me and won't phase anyone else about this phone. The four... 5/5 Andrea L. LG Optimus V - Virgin Mobile

I have never had a cell phone plan, and I don't plan on having one any time soon. When I first started using cell phones, the curse of prepaid services were the phones. Companies like Net10 had fantastic deals, but the phones were always cheap and disposable, which of course is the great part about prepaid service. I'm not stuck with a phone for two years and if I need one, I'm not worrying about the price.Another great part about prepaid service is that I will never have to speak with a representative. Virgin Mobile is an easy set up and upon start up, the phone was quick to activate and start my service. This two reasons are high on my list for why prepaid trumps contract phone plans. When this phone was announced, I was a bit skeptical. I was worried that it would be a watered down version of the LG Optimus S, but I am happy to report that it is essentially the same device. The following will mention the look, feel, and speed of the device... 4/5 J. Phone is great but NOT unlocked!

I purchased this product about one month ago and bought another for my wife. The phones were delivered on time. The ones I purchased online had no carrier logos but upon arrival I discovered T-mobile branding on them. So I thought 'ok, no problem - it's supposed to be unlocked,' and went ahead and slipped in my sim card. What I did not mention as yet is that I live in Trinidad and Tobago (in the Caribbean) and travel a lot, hence the purchase of an unlocked phone. Upon switching on the phone, I was greeted with a very cool green Android guy. Unfortunately, I could not get past that screen - because lo and behold, the phone was not unlocked (as advertised)! The only reason I did not automatically return the phones at this point (as advised by the Amazon Rep.) is because it would have been such a hassle to do so. That's only the first part of the problem. I then thought that I could just get the phones unlocked by those smart tech people you see in the malls all over... 2/5 Nari - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Surprise: phone has a crack on the back and locked to T-Mobile

I bouhgt this 'unlocked' phone to be used with AT&T. I know AT&T insists data plan for smart phones, which I don't need, since I have wifi most of the time. But I also know AT&T closes an eye on non-AT&T smart phones. I'm very happy with the phone, except for a few problems that I encountered:1. The vendor did not disclose a crack on the back cover, and that the phone was actually locked to T-Mobile.2. The phone came with old firmware, probably Android 1.5, I couldn't tell, since I couldn't get pass the google log in (requires network data connection, no Wifi). This first generation firmware only works for people who have T-Mobile account with data plan.3. I went to a T-Mobile store and signed up for T-Mobile prepaid plan, got a new T-Mobile SIM card. But still no network connection. The T-Mobile store wouldn't refund me the $25 cash that I handed to them 10 mins before, although the contract says I can cancel it the first 2 weeks. I did borrow 2... 4/5 Jerry Chu (Fremont, CA USA) - See all my reviews, March 26, 2011

    superior amazon service.

I had read all the negative reviews for this phone but the good ones out weighed the bad so I decided to give it a go. The unit I was sent was defective out of the box and I remembered all the people advising against it. I contacted amazon and they immediately sent out a new phone and gave me a ups label to return the defective one @ no extra cost. The second phone has been working perfectly and amazon's superior customer service took some of the sting off of getting a non working unit the first time. On an additional note, all those warnings of poor battery life, I've gotten the battery so far to go 36 to 40 hours btwn charges. over all it has been worth the price, just be sure to buy from amazon directly as you will then have the their guaranty backing you up. 4/5 robert - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
