  Not what was pictured

  I didn't receive what I ordered. This item is pictured as a cord. I ordered three, and received three adapter plugs instead. So instead of the L-shaped plug sticking out from the phone jack only 1/4" like I wanted, the whole contraption sticks out 1 1/2" instead. That risks damage to my treo's jack with the slightest tug on the headphones. Unacceptable.   I have a Palm Centro and use it as my MP3 player, as well as streaming internet radio. My headphones are the standard 3.5mm, and the headphone jack on the Centro is 2.5mm, so I needed an adapter. I bought this one and it works perfectly. Unlike the previous adapter I bought from Radio Shack for over $10, and i had to trim some of the rubber flashing around the tip for it to fit into my phone, and after a few months it had a short in it.   Bought a pair of these two years ago. They sounds pretty decent (better than my Ipod earbuds), the retractable feature is great and they have a little clip to hook on to your shirt, or whatever. one of the earbud wires broke but that was after about two years of hard use. In the meantime I'm using my ipod phones and they suck because they're constantly tangling.   Some Clarification on 3 Ring Adapters! (a must read 1st)

  It's seems (from reading the reviews) that there is some confusion about the 3 rings on 2.5mm jacks. I notice that nobody has commented on how well this adapter works with their headset/microphone! Here is the deal; you do NOT need 3 rings for stereo! (left channel + right channel = stereo) hence two rings, plus the common ground (the tip on all jacks)to create stereo. The 3rd ring is for a standard classic over the head, or in the ear, WIRED HEADSET with microphone, like this one:KX-TCA60 commonly used on home cordless phones. But also work on your cell phone! (with the above adapter)A generally MUCH BETTER sounding alternative to your lost bluetooth, or the one that needs charging that you can't use right now. BTW, although a wire can be a pain sometimes, you can't beat the price, sound quality, and always ready to go device. (quality varies by model)Here is where it gets a little tricky. I assumed I had a defective unit, but the seller informed me that the centro works with a two-band (a.k.a. 2-ring) plug. I doubted this at first because I have a 3-band stereo headset with a mic that works in stereo (with so-so sound), but after a good bit of web research I have learned that the circuitry in the centro makes use of the three bands when switching between stereo and phone mode. For plain stereo listening you'll need a two-band adapter.   Pleasantly Surprised

  When you pay 3.99 for a set of earphones (minus shipping), you don't expect much in the way of sound quality, but these ear buds surprised me. The sound is rich and pretty full. Better in the high end than in the bass, but still for 3.99.........trumpets, saxes, pianos, come out very nicely. Bass is a bit muted. But overall, very nice sound for the price. I like the call-interruption feature, which pauses the song when you press the mic button, and then starts it again when the call is done. Conversation quality is good. I would have given five stars but for two reasons.....first, even with the foam pads on, they can slip out, and you spend a good amount of time adjusting the buds so they don't. The other reason is a dig at Palm:Shame on you, Palm for using a 2.5 mm jack, and not the universal sized 3.5 mm jack, forcing Centro users to have to go on Amazon, search, buy, and then wait for a stupid pair of ear buds.   Perfect for the Blackberry Pearl 8100

  These earbuds are much better in terms of quality and sound compared to the OEM earbuds. The audio quality is louder and more "full". The cables are slighter thicker, giving a better quality feel. The length is just an inch longer than the OEM (from plug to the longer right earpiece). Note that the Samsung cable length is the same for both earpieces, as opposed to the OEM having the right longer than the left.I have not made many calls with them yet but it seems that the receiver could hear me clearly. The only negative I noticed so far would be that calls do not sound as crystal-clear, most likely due to the same bass-sound thats making the music sound great.I also managed received the item in the mail 2 days after ordering.   Great for Music Phones, Mediocre for Talking

  I purchased these earbuds for use with my Samsung Rant and so far I love them for listening to music on my phone. The incoming stereo sound quality while listening to music or during conversations is pretty good considering their price. The bass tones are a little weak, but that's not unexpected for cheaper earbuds. While these may be excellent for listening to music, the outgoing sound quality can be a little garbled on the other person's end. My wife tells me I sound a little hollow/metalic through the mic and that sometimes she can hear her voiced echo during conversations.   This adapter does work for 2.5mm headsets (with microphones)

  There is apparently a lot of confusion over what these adapters can do. I believe the problem is that there are two different wiring standards (pin-outs) for 2.5mm audio plugs and jacks: stereo headphones (two earpieces and no mic) vs. stereo or mono telephone headsets (one or two earpieces and a mic). The 2.5mm male plug's tip and rings are the same dimensions/position, but wired differently.On a 2.5mm plug with a tip and two rings, the contacts can be wired as earpiece, mic and common, or as left earpiece, right earpiece and common. You'd need a 2.5mm plug with a tip and three rings for a stereo telephone phone headset, just like the 3.5mm version.Thus, an adapter such as this one will only work with one type of connection, and you cannot tell by looking at it.
