Servicable, but by no means impressive

This is my first BT headset ever. At $26.88 at the Wal, it seemed a wortwhile risk. I think I am going to keep it. I have nothing to compare it to though. Getting it working with my LG VX-8300 was a snap. It was still going strong after 3 hours (it is rated for 6).It is light and comfortable. At least for me, the fit and comfort are pretty surprising, warranting a 3 instead of a 2 rating. Audio quality is acceptable. At first I did not think so, but it seems to have worked out after a bit of use (why, I do not know). I would not call it consistent at this time.It has only been a couple of days however. The volume control seems to do nothing, but it is just (barely) loud enough to be usable without being too loud. It is easier to adjust the volume by repositioning it. The ear audio port is not held in place by your outer ear... somethihng that I hate about earbuds like those for MP3 players. The people I have called to test it generally... 3/5 Pinbyte (Arizona) - See all my reviews This review is from: Plantronics Explorer 220 Bluetooth Headset (Black) (Wireless Phone Accessory) This is my first BT headset ever. Good for it's price

I purchased this through Verizon Wireless, thanks to several giftcards and a corporate discount. Now, I paid about $13 for this, but am rating this based on paying about $30, as most people will pay around $30.Fit - It fits well enough. The "over the ear" clip isn't uncomfortable to me at all. Even with sunglasses on, though this may hinder other people. As for the earbud itself, it fits me well enough. It doesn't fit as snugly as an iPod earbud, but it seems to do it's job.Look - I think it's a pretty good looking headset. Some of the headsets out there look pretty strange but work extremely well (jawbone). this particular one doesn't look cheap to others, nor does it handle cheaply, and seems well made.Volume Control/Incoming sound - The toggle switch is a bit frustrating. I attempted to turn the volume up when talking to my mother, and hung up on her. The volume, in my opinion, should be able to go a little higher than it's capable of. Instead, I... 3/5 Daniel T. Lightweight and comfortable

Plantronics is very comparable, if not better, than Jabra headsets. This particular model (220) is very lightweight, comfortable, and discreet. So small and inconspicuous, I can wear it w/o anyone seeing it beneath my hair. I purchased this earpiece in order to have my hands free to take notes when working via phone with my co-workers, as well as talking while driving (although, I find that difficult w/ or w/o a headset). I bought this headset at a local electronics store and their warranty is, 30 days if I wish to return it. So far, I see no reason to return it. Their more expensive model supposedly muffles any extraneous noises, etc., but it is about $40 more than this model. 4/5 Camille Yuasa (USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Plantronics Explorer 220 Bluetooth Headset (Black) (Wireless Phone Accessory) Plantronics is very comparable, if not better, than Jabra headsets. Great Bluetooth-Cheap Packaging

I recently purchase this bluetooth for 12 bucks from Amazon. It's a great price for a basic bluetooth. I personally do not care all the fancy features that higher priced models have, I'm sure they are nice and may come in handy from time to time but I rather save the 60 dollars. It's very easy to do the initial set-up and to operate it. Uses one button for all the funtions, such as answering a call, redialing last number, voice dialing (only if your phone has that feature)or rejecting a call and has separate volume buttons. It's very clear at both ends, nobody has complained of not being able to hear me clearly. The bluetooth itself is very nice looking, small, light and it fit my ear perfectly. I would have givin this bluetooth 5 stars if it wasn't for the packaging, I was not aware the Bulk Packaging meant Amazon would put the headset in a sandwich bag with a bad photo copy of the instructions which were barely readable almost if I had gotten from a Craker Jack's box. But I... 4/5 TargetShopper "Ricardo R" (New York City) - See all my reviews This review is from: Plantronics Explorer 220 Bluetooth Headset [Bulk Packaging] (Wireless Phone Accessory) I recently purchase this bluetooth for 12 bucks from Amazon. Decent Device

The range of this bluetooth is very poor. You can't walk more than 3ft away from it before it starts to sound flaky. The headset is comfortable and battery life is really good. Other problem I had was that when I use it while driving, people say that it sounds like i'm driving with the windows down when I'm actually not. I wouldn't recommend this product because of the sound clarity and range. $10-$20 more will be worth it. 3/5 E. Sanchez (Texas) - See all my reviews, June 10, 2010

    Good unit, short range.

This is a very good unit. Although, after 5 feet the bluetooth looses signal with the phone. And the earpiece is not FLEXABLE, causing severe pain after about an hour of wear. If the ear peice was re vamped, and the range extended it would be the perfect bluetooth! 4/5 Brandalyn M. Sinex - See all my reviews, December 17, 2009

EXCELLENT name brand product ULTRA fast shipping!

I had lost my charger for the Discovery 925 ( and ..later found it, but that is another story).I was in a panic and shopped local stores like a well known Big Box electronics place, I could only either find no-name brands that "might work" for $20, or this same exact item for around $30.Okay, plan two: Check Amazon! To my DELIGHT, I found EXACTLY what I wanted, name-brand Plantronics, with FREE SHIPPING for well under $10! I ordered it, and it was in my hands in 3 days! When I think of the time I wasted ( and gas money ), searching for this, I felt silly. I would suggest that people buy one as a "spare" just to have on hand.Excellent in every respect! 5/5 Movie Maker "Rik" (Alexandria, VA United States) - See all my reviews, September 19, 2010

    Great charger but needs improvement!

I purchased this charger because a part of my original charger got lost in a hotel in Wisconsin. The AC adapter that plugs into the wall is removable and interchangeable so you can use it in different countries. Well it is secured by a little clip that does not work well on some of the chargers. I lost mine. If you buy this charger make sure the clip is firmly pressed in and that it holds the prongs tightly. If not you will have to look for the adapter in the outlet every time. Or buy a new one like me. 4/5 Jeremy Poling - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Don't know why this didn't come with my bluetooth in the first place.

Since Washington State law just changed to require drivers to use a hands free device, I really needed one of these chargers for the car. My bluetooth earpiece only came with a wall charger, which is stupid because I need the bluetooth in the car, not in the house. This car charger was not expensive and now I can just keep my bluetooth and charger in the car at all times. I love it! Very handy and a great item. 5/5 Paula J. Outstanding for the Price

I am very fussy about headsets for my land line phones and find very few acceptable. I currently have three Plantronics headsets and this is the latest one. All are great, but this is the best so far at less than half the cost of the last one. I have this one on a Vtech phone with the volume on the headset at the lowest level and the volume on the Vtech at the lowest setting and everything is loud and clear for me and for person I am speaking to... on land lines and wireless phones. It is very comfortable to wear unlike the other two Plantronics I own. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED at twice the price. 5/5 Zen Williston (Heavenly Valley, NV United States) - See all my reviews, July 11, 2005

The best headset I've found specifically for cordless (not cell) phones!

I've been through way too many headsets trying to get great sound quality both on my end and for the person on the other end of the phone, and this one takes the prize so far. The model number is similar to but NOT the same as the similar one made for cell phones...but this one truly is optimized for cordless phones and does a great job. The only complaint is that the ear loop on it is less than completely comfortable, but it's a small price to pay for great sound and mobility. I use it with a Panasonic 5.4 GHz cordless phone. 5/5 Marissa Ivy - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) In my search for the perfect bluetooth headset, they ALL require compromises... it sounds great, but it's uncomfortable to wear for extended periods... it's lightweight, but the person on the other end can't always hear me... works great, but the batteries die in the middle of an average day or the volume can't be raised loud enough... you get the idea.Well, Plantronics has come out with the Voyager 520, and it requires, for me, the minimum amount of compromise of any headset I've tried, and I've tried a LOT!First, it utilizes a soft rubber ear bud which is cone shaped to fit in your ear canal, but is soft enough to not irritate your ears. Pretty Good, almost as good as the 510 (but not quite)

I've tried them all: Moto, Jabra, Cardio, Plantronics 320 (junk), Jawbone (2 stars), and nothing came close to outperforming my trusty old Plantronics 510. Plantronics 520 vs. Jawbone, vs. Plantronic Discovery 925 vs. Plantronic Voyager 510 - A Honest Review

Hello People. Here is an honest review for those who are looking for a good headset. I purchased the Voyager 510 over two years ago to go with my Katana phone. The problem I was having with the 510 was that the signal would drop a lot, so much that I called Plantronic and they told me that the Katana was not compatible with the 510. However, they're customer service was excellent. They told me that cell phones control headset, headsets don't control phones. Cell phones send out signals and headsets pick up the signal. But to make sure I didn't have a defected headset, they sent me a new 510 hoping that will solve the problem. However it didn't. So I was convinced that it was the headset, not my Katana. My wife and I decided to upgrade our phones, so I purchased the Samsung Instinct and I wanted a Bluetooth headset that would work with my new phone, since I was convinced that the 510 was not a good headset. So I purchased the Plantronic Discovery 925. I really was excited... 2/5 X "X-Man" (Saint Louis, Missouri USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Great headset but all the fancy extras are through Vocalyst. There are some issues with that.

I have a lot to say, so those of you that want the short version here it is. Mind you this is my first pass over a few days of usage.SUMMARY:PROS:1. Extremely comfortable secure headset2. Quick and simple pairing3. Great sound quality (my 4th headset so I know the difference)4. Nice voice prompts for pairing, turning on, connecting, accepting calls and battery life.CONS:1. Since Vocalyst is a phone call it burns minutes.2. Voice pairing instructions were wrong, but if you have done this before, it is simple enough.3. Vocalyst service seems convoluted (you have to call them to do anything) and at this time nothing seems really worth it.4. Sending an email via Vocalyst sends a voice email. I wanted text.5. Sending Texts are a Pro level feature that costs extra bucks ($35-$59/year). I don't know if they are voice texts or text ones. Assume Voice.5. Sleek, but needs work

It has a nice, slim look. The earpiece stays in my ear without the hook, but YMMV.Power button is easy to access. Pairing is guided by voice prompts. The Volume button - there's only one - is a little hard to press, though. And it cycles. If you're at the lowest volume and you press the "lower volume" button, it cycles back to the loudest. And vice-versa. So if you want a lower volume, you'll have to pass through the higher ones first. Annoying. Also, the lowest volume setting is still pretty loud - a little too loud for me.You're supposed to be able to answer or ignore calls by saying "answer" or "ignore." However, it had trouble recognizing my command. Initially I had to speak up quite loudly for it to finally obey. But it worked OK a couple of days later. It varies with your surrounding noise. The command button is on the stiff side - pressing it while on your ear may be uncomfortable. Better to use your fingernail rather... 3/5 Grimmy "Grimmy" (MD USA) - See all my reviews, September 23, 2011

    Great little set

I have a few other Plantronics headsets, which is probably why this one showed up for review. I use a Voyager Pro+ and a wireless telephone headset for long teleconferences. Both of those have outstanding audio quality and comfort. This headset is incredibly small and compact compared to my other ones, is easy to wear for a few hours, and is really a better product if you are in a quiet environment like your house or office. This is not the thing to use in the car with the top down or walking outside if there is a breeze. You also want to avoid this product if there is a lot of background noise because the mic really is a long way from your mouth. .I called a few people to ask about the sound quality and while all agreed that I sounded a bit like I was at the bottom of a well, the sound quality wasn't noticeably bad, which is probably the best that can be expected from a little gizmo like this.Unpacking and set-up were a breeze. There are two little... 5/5 T. Knox "Regular Guy" (N.E. Mississippi) - See all my reviews, September 24, 2011
